Fulham host Wolves at the Craven Cottage (London) in the 31st round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Friday, April 9. Read our reasons for Fulham vs Wolves prediction and betting tips.
Fulham’s relegation fears intensified after a defeat at Aston Villa. The Cottagers were on course to leapfrog Newcastle into the 17th spot, but Villa hit three in the final 12 minutes to leave Fulham three points from a position of safety. With seven matches left, including a home game against Man United, as well as trips to Arsenal and Chelsea, Fulham are in big trouble. Meanwhile, in the round’s last game on Monday, Wolves were beaten 3-2 by West Ham at Molineux to remain 14th in the table, nine points above the bottom three after a second half comeback from the hosts wasn't quite enough to secure a point after West Ham surged into an early three-goal lead.
Fulham looked on course for a much-needed victory on Sunday when taking a deserved 61st-minute lead at Aston Villa through Aleksandar Mitrovic. However, the pressure got to them and Villa took full advantage by netting three times in a 10-minute blitz. That was a third straight defeat for the Cottagers, who are three points behind Newcastle and have played a game more. One major plus point for Parker, though, was the continued resurgence of Mitrovic, who netted five goals in three games for Serbia during the international break.
However, if Fulham were to clamber out of the relegation zone, with 7 games to go, the Cottagers have to ride each remaining fixture with the do-or-die attitude that saw them claw back a 10-point deficit in their darkest period of the campaign. There’s no ground-breaking formula, but losing in the disgrace of which Fulham did at Villa Park can be wholly accredited to a declining state of belief and this can surely be remedied tactically. In order to gain the results they desperately require to survive Scot Parker’s side need to stamp their authority whilst in command for once.
On the other hand, Wolves have only picked up two points from their last five outings following Monday’s 3-2 loss to West Ham at Molineux. Wanderers were made to pay for some poor defending when going 3-0 down inside 40 minutes and couldn’t quite recover. Leander Dendoncker and Fabio Silva did pull goals back to set up a tense finish but the Hammers held on. Wolves remain 14th and lost Jonny to his second serious knee injury in less than 12 months after he damaged his ACL on Sunday.
Blighted before kick-off by news of another injury to a key player, the opening 45 soon became a brutal exposition of the shortcomings of Nuno’s squad. There should be enough talent in this Wolves team to steer clear of danger, but it’s obvious that serious rethinking is needed to return to the heights of the last two seasons. The news of Jonny’s injury was another bitter pill to swallow, and for the time being, the Wanderers need to focus on getting to 40 points and bidding adieu to this dreary campaign.

Fulham meet Wolves with both teams scrambling for results lately. Fulham won one in five while losing the other four and Wolves have drawn two and lost three in that span. The last time the Cottagers won against Wolves was in Championship in February 2018. The two teams shared the points on Fulham’s return to the top-flight, but the Cottagers have since lost 1-0 on the next two occasions.
After a couple of seasons scaling new heights, Wanderers have been brought back down to earth this term and it will be interesting to see how their resolve holds up. With the Cottagers needing to push for maximum points here, this could be a more open contest than many pundits are expecting.
