The fight for survival continues in Serie A when Genoa and Cagliari meet in a direct clash to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
The Grifone have only lost once in their six last home games against Cagliari and have a great record against the Sardinians since 2015. Genoa has picked up four points in their last two Serie A games but only one point above relegation ahead of their match against a desperate Casteddu. Davide Ballardini said Genoa ‘proved to be a team’ against Atalanta and revealed he predicted La Dea would finish ahead of Juve in the Serie A table this season. Genoa picked up eight points from four games with Ballardini in the dug-out. Today, they held Atalanta to a 0-0 draw at the Gewiss Stadium.
The Rossoblu are reported to be interested in Atalanta’s Sam Lammers while Kevin Strootman made his debut with the Rossoblu. “I have Destro, Scamacca, Pandev, Pjaca, Shomurodov. Five strikers. I think the squad is deep enough,” Ballardini replied. "Strootman can be very useful if he’s fit, but he is a midfielder. I know Lammers well, I saw him play in Holland, I like him, but I am happy with my strikers.”
Genoa (3-5-2): Perin; Masiello, Radovanovic, Criscito; Zappacosta, Strootman, Badelj, Zajc, Czyborra; Destro, Shomudorov
Suspended: none
Injured: Zapata, Cassata, Biraschi
Cagliari coach Eusebio Di Francesco praised ‘decisive’ Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and said the Rossoblu must learn how to suffer. The Casteddu are left at 17th in Serie A after 18 games, as the Rossoneri return to the fashion capital with a 2-0 win from the Sardegna Arena. “Too bad for the second goal, arriving from a ball that’s not easy to read,” Di Francesco told media. “Too bad for the penalty we didn’t get, but when times are difficult, everything doesn’t go your way.”
The Rossoblu tactician praised veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored another brace to give Milan the three points. “Ibra is smarter and more experienced. Even today, he was decisive,” Di Francesco added. “We were not very good in the last play, finishing the many chances we created. “The result and the points are lacking, they weigh us down in this table.” The coach added his Cagliari side must learn how to suffer as their opponents did. “Milan takes the game home because they know how to suffer, but we still pay from this point of view."
Cagliari (4-3-2-1): Cragno; Zappa, Godin, Ceppitelli, Lykogiannis; Nandez, Duncan, Marin; Nainggolan, Joao Pedro; Simeone
Suspended: none
Injured: Luvumbo, Rog, Carboni, Klavan, Ounas

Cagliari is on a run of five consecutive defeats but hasn’t lost six on the bounce in Serie A since January 201. Both teams to score is the most reasonable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
