New Genoa manager Davide Ballardini will try to grab two wins from two when his side host Lazio in Serie A on Sunday.
Davide Ballardini believes Genoa has room for improvement and reveals he had rejected two offers from the Grifone in the past. The Italian tactician won 2-1 away at Spezia on his return to the Genoa bench. “It was a nice win, I am satisfied because we played as a team, that’s what I wanted to see. We still need to improve in both phases, sometimes we are too slow to arrive on the ball fist and it can be risky”.
Balardini cleared that this team needs some adjustments in the transfer window. ‘’I want to play offensive football, I want to keep the ball possession and see an aggressive team. We still need to improve but we were humble against Spezia and this behavior is a good starting point.”
Veteran Goran Pandev got a rare start for Genoa against Spezia but has a slight thigh strain so may be replaced by top scorer Gianluca Scamacca. Davide Zappacosta has worked his way back to full fitness with two substitute appearances so could now be in line for a start, while Christian Zapata is in contention again after a muscle problem.
Genoa (3-5-2): Mattia Perin; Andrea Masiello, Mattia Bani, Domenico Criscito; Paolo Ghiglione, Valon Behrami, Milan Badelj, Lukas Lerager, Lennart Czyborra; Goran Pandev, Mattia Destro.
Simone Inzaghi said Milan’s win against Lazio is not fair as the Biancocelesti 'dominated the game' for a long time. Lazio recovered from two goals down but somehow lost 3-2 against Milan through a late Theo Hernandez’s goal. “The result is not fair, I am angry. We came here with some problems, we had a few players out of action. We deserved more. It must serve as a lesson for the future. We are sorry for the result. We controlled the game’’.
Lazio has already conceded 23 goals in the opening 14 games of the season. “We must pay more attention, we conceded goals on three set pieces. It’s not only a problem of defenders, we did well against Napoli. The approach was wrong, we can’t afford that against a top club like Milan. We are missing some points right now, but we’ll make up for it. I repeat, the performance was good.”
Lazio's Joaquin Correa was forced off against AC Milan after picking up a calf injury and has been ruled out, with Felipe Caicedo or Vedat Muriqi expected to start up front. Centre-back Francesco Acerbi is fit again following a thigh injury, and he should come straight back into the side in place of Luiz Felipe, who has an ankle problem. Lucas Leiva was also suffering from a thigh problem but should be available on Sunday, potentially meaning that Gonzalo Escalante drops to the bench.
Lazio (3-5-2): Pepe Reina; Patric, Luiz Felipe, Stefan Radu; Manuel Lazzari, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Gonzalo Escalante, Luis Alberto, Adam Marusic; Ciro Immobile, Joaquin Correa.

As Genoa is adopting to more offensive approach, Lazio will be comfortable with that, most points in this season they had with quick counters and soaking the pressure. Away win is our most favorable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
