Genoa's only Serie A win of the season came at home against Crotone, and they desperately need a result when Parma visits Luigi Ferraris.
Genoa's terrible run of six games without a win in Serie A was extended to seven as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Udinese last weekend. In some late drama, Gianluca Scamacca's equalizer was ruled out and Mattia Perin was sent off. Rodrigo De Paul broke the deadlock and ultimately decided the match with a moment of quality, drilling into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. Genoa poured forward throughout the second half and thought they had equalized in injury time with Gianluca Scamacca, but their celebrations were cut short by VAR. There was more drama too, as Mattia Perin saw red for sprinting off his line to take down Jens Stryger-Larsen.
There was some cheer in the Coppa Italia though, as Genoa defeated city rivals Sampdoria 3-1, with Scamacca grabbing a brace. That cheer was tempered as Genoa announced the shock sacking of Director of Sport Daniele Faggiano, who was appointed just a few months ago.
Genoa boss Rolando Maran will have to make do without Mattia Perin after his red card. Federico Marchetti is expected to deputize in goal. Davide Biraschi picked up a shoulder problem and joins fellow defender Domenico Criscito on the sidelines. Christian Zapata should come in at the back, while Scamacca and Goran Pandev will resume their partnership upfront.
Genoa (3-5-2): Mattia Perin (GK), Christian Zapata, Mattia Bani, Andrea Masiello; Miha Zajc, Nicolo Rovella, Milan Badelj, Stefano Sturaro, Luca Pelligrini; Goran Pandev, Gianluca Scamacca
Parma bounced back from their 3-0 hammering at the hands of Roma on the weekend by progressing to the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia. Henrikh Mkhitaryan turned on the style with two strikes that were as spectacular as they were nonchalant, Roma swiping Parma aside. The Armenia international is on stunning form at the moment and taking a leadership role in the absence of Edin Dzeko. Borja Mayoral sprung the offside trap to open the scoring, then Mkhitaryan let a loose ball drop down for a casually inch-perfect volley under the bar. The former Arsenal midfielder’s second of the afternoon was also impressive, a cushioned volley finishing off a well-worked team move. Parma was thankful for Juan Brunetta's brace as they defeated lower league Cosenza 2-1 and booked an away clash against Lazio in the next round.
Hernani, Lautaro Valenti, and Giuseppe Pezzella have joined Andrea Dini and Valentin Mihaila in the infirmary, although only Hernani and Pezzella were featuring in the first XI with any regularity. Wylan Cyprien should replace Hernani in midfield, while Gervinho and Roberto Inglese resume their partnership in Fabio Liverani's attack.
Parma (3-5-2): Luigi Sepe (GK); Simone Iacoponi, Bruno Alves, Yordan Osorio; Alberto Grassi, Juraj Kucka, Wylan Cyprien, Jasmin Kurtic, Riccardo Gagliolo; Gervinho, Roberto Inglese

Both teams are struggling to find goals at the moment so under 2.5 goals should be the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
