Genoa is arguably the form team in Serie A right now and hopes to cause another upset against unpredictable Verona. Read our reasons for Genoa vs Verona prediction and betting tips.
Davide Ballardini has transformed the Grifone since replacing Rolando Maran, going unbeaten in six rounds and winning their last three on the bounce at home. He saw ‘three clear scoring opportunities’ for Genoa in the draw with Torino, but it was ultimately ‘a balanced game.’ The fixture ended 0-0 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Davide Zappacosta’s best chance hitting the upright. “Genoa tried to take the initiative, but Torino has players of great quality and character. I think we had three clear scoring opportunities today. Importantly, Genoa also knows how to defend and soak up pressure. It was a very balanced game, but with humility and determination, we managed to cause Torino problems. “Our ambition is just to play well the next game. Every fixture is tough in Serie A, so our ambition is to do well on Saturday.”
With Milan Badelj suspended, Genoa started Nicolò Rovella, who has already been sold to Juventus. “Rovella had a very good performance today, he was concentrated, provided quality and quantity. He’s still very young, has a lot to learn, but has clear qualities. Above all, he is an extraordinary lad in terms of his professionalism. He’s got his head on his shoulders and that means the only way is up for him. It’s a bonus for Genoa and for whoever will work with him in the future.”
Genoa (3-5-2): Perin; Masiello, Radovanovic, Goldaniga; Zappacosta, Zajc, Badelj, Strootman, Czyborra; Destro, Shomurodov
Suspended: None
Injured: Biraschi, Criscito
Hellas Verona beat Parma 2-1 at the Stadio Bentegodi on Monday with Antonin Barak who scored the club’s 1000th goal in Serie A. Hellas had lost the previous two league games, while Parma had one point from the last five matches with Roberto D’Aversa in the dug-out. Kevin Lasagna started up front to replace the injured Nikola Kalinic, but the visitors had a good chance at the start of the game, but Matteo Lovato cleared the area right before Cornelius could hit the ball from point-blank range. Yann Karamoh earned a spot-kick even if referee Luca Massimi had to had a VAR check to award the penalty kick converted by Juraj Kucka. Hellas Verona reacted immediately when Kevin Lasagna burst in from the left, serving Dimarco on the far post. The Italian winger helped it in but failed to celebrate against his former club.
It was Dimarco who provided the assist for the winner that came from a corner kick with Barak who headed the ball home. It was the 10th header goal allowed by Parma this season. The Ducali did too little to score the equalizer with a Gervinho shot from the edge of the box saved by Marco Silvestri and a Joshua Zirkzee header that went over the crossbar. Hellas have now 33 points in 22 games, while Parma still has 13 in 22 and sits 19th in the Serie A table. Hellas coach Ivan Juric faces his former club with some personnel problems, as Federico Dimarco is suspended, with Nikola Kalinic and Ebrima Colley added to the injury list, but at least Matteo Zaccagni returns from his ban.
Verona (3-4-2-1): Silvestri; Cetin; Gunter, Lovato; Faraoni, Tameze, Ilic, Lazovic; Barak, Zaccagni; Lasagna
Suspended: Dimarco
Injured: Benassi, Ceccherini, Colley, Dawidowicz, Kalinic

Verona has lost each of their last six Serie A trips to Genoa. The home team is the slim favorite to keep the streak, but both teams to score looks like a decent bet regarding recent form. Our final Genoa vs Verona prediction is both teams to score.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
