Germany meet Hungary at the Allianz Arena (Munich) in the EURO 2020 Group F Round 2 match and the game kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Wednesday, June 23. Read our reason for Germany vs Hungary prediction and betting tips.
THE GROUP OF DEATH GOES DOWN TO THE WIRE
Never write off Germany is a saying we have heard so many times in the big tournaments and they have done it again. ’Die Mannschaft’ bounced back from their 1-0 loss to France with an impressive 4-2 win over Portugal on Saturday in what was the game of Euro 2020 so far. A win would guarantee progression to the next round of the competition, but a point would likely also be enough. Hungary took a surprise lead against France on Saturday, but were unable to hold out for victory at the Puskas Arena. A point against the world champions though will boost morale ahead of this must-win meeting.
GERMANS ODDS ON FAVOURITES
The victory over Portugal was much needed and was a fantastic one made even more better by the fact that they were trailing early on to a Cristiano Ronaldo goal. But Germany attacked well and got their just rewards and they must be very confident coming into this game. One worry is that they keep conceding goals and have done so in 4 of their last five games. Form probably still isn’t convincing enough overall for Low’s side but they usually win the big games and will be the odds on favourites here.
Germany will be the clear favourites and you can back them to win at around 1/6 which says it all. The draw has been unlucky for Hungary as they are no longer at home and will have to travel to Munich, and Germany have had the luck to play all of their games at home. The atmosphere in Munich will be electric and we can expect Hungary to face some of their own medicine that they dished out to France at the weekend as the crowd did their part.
TIP #1: With all that said it’s difficult to look past Germany and we should take Low’s team to get the win on the handicap for a better value price.
CAN HUNGARY GIVE ANOTHER FAMOUS PERFORMANCE?
Hungary is one of the most rapidly flourishing European sides that can live up to any challenge despite playing without their qualification hero Dominik Szoboszlai. They showed great strength of character in both their matches, despite succumbing to the Portuguese attack in the last minutes of the game. They held out for a draw against France in a valiant display keeping the renowned French strikers limited to just a goal.
Marco Rossi's side have given a good account of themselves at the tournament so far. Not much was expected from Hungarians, but they have caused trouble to some of the biggest nations in Europe. However, The Marco Rossi led side has just one point and is currently last in Group F. Hungary will try to keep their shape intact and not let Germany get shooting chances in their box. They must win this match to keep their far-fetched dream of getting past the group stages alive.
TIP #2: Hungarian hero Attila Fiola netted the match opener versus France last time out, and now has two goals in his last four international appearances. For him to score at any time is our first pick from the Germany vs Hungary betting odds.

Germany could still suffer group stage eliminations in successive major tournaments for the first time ever, but they’ve averaged an encouraging 2.60 goals per fixture across their last ten home internationals (W5, D3, L2). Defensive improvements are still needed though, with only three clean sheets in their last 16 games overall. Having said that, it all points out to another high-scoring spectacle.
Final BettingKick’s Germany vs Hungary prediction is: Over 2.5 goals.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
