Germany will be host Turkey at RheinEnergieStadion in Koln for a friendly international game.
With the selection of 26 outfield players and three goalkeepers Germany national squad will be more than ready for the upcoming international games in October. Just like for the last two games in September, special attention has been paid to individual workload management. Three games in six days could be tough test for the most of the national teams, but Germany have great and big roster and players capable to fight for their minutes on the pitch.
Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry (all FC Bayern Munich) return to the squad alongside Lukas Klostermann and Marcel Halstenberg (RB Leipzig). Mahmoud Dahoud (Borussia Dortmund) and Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Mönchengladbach) have been called up to the national side for the first time. Thilo Kehrer, Leroy Sané (FC Bayern Munich) and Marc-André ter Stegen (FC Barcelona) are absent due to injury. Ilkay Gündogan (Manchester City) continues his recovery from Coronavirus and will miss the international fixtures.
Manuel Neuer, Niklas Süle, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry (all FC Bayern Munich), as well as Lukas Klostermann, Marcel Halstenberg (both RB Leipzig) and Toni Kroos (Real Madrid) will join the squad on Tuesday evening. These players will only be involved in the two UEFA Nations League fixtures. They will begin training with the national side on Wednesday morning.
Germany last played Turkey on 7th October 2011, winning 3-1 in Istanbul. The sides have met 20 times, with Germany winning 14. Turkey have won on three occasions, and three matches have ended in a draw.
In September Germany played out 1-1 draws with both Spain and Switzerland, they wasn’t too dissatisfied with the two draws; Germany dominated Spain at times, even without a few of key players. They missed many easy chances and there is a feeling they let two victories slip through fingers. Not being clinical enough is an issue that has persisted for a while and they need to more decisive in the final third. The Turkey match is a welcome opportunity for young team to experiment and try a few new things. It’s a chance to learn and to gain experience.
Turkey is in the same state of mind regarding the next match. Senol Gunes can't be satisfied with previous results, after 1-0 home loss against Hungary they played better in a a goalless draw in Serbia, leaving them third in Group B3 with Russia and Serbia to come over the next week in the upcoming and more important matches. Gunes said there are many room for improvement for his side, they lacked creativity in the final third and didn't score despite having a one-man advantage for the best part of second half.
Goalkeeper Gokhan Akkan has been called up for the first time, but he is there to watch and learn. Germany-based players Ahmed Kutucu, Kenan Karaman and Ozan Kabak are also part of the 27-man party, as is star man Hakan Calhanoglu, who has four goals and an assist in six AC Milan games this term and his is key player in a team that have three wins from three matches at the start of the Seria A. Buruk Yilmaz and Zeki Celik are playing very good at Lille, and young striker Enes Unal who plays for Getafe could be very dangerous and rising star of this team.
They are not familiar with success in matches against Germany, they lost 14 of their previous 20 meetings with the Germans, three of those games finishing all square.

Germany is heavy favorite for win despite the fact this is just a friendly game. They have several players that want chance on a biggest stage and to earn another call up from Low.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
