Hoffenheim will hope leading scorer Andrej Kramaric can return to top form to help them snap a seven-game winless streak in the Bundesliga when they face Augsburg on Monday.
Croatian international Andrej Kramaric hit the 2020/21 campaign running with six goals in his opening three matches, including two strikes as Sebastian Hoeneß's side became the only team to beat Bayern Munich in 2020 on Matchday 2. Kramaric was sidelined for his club's next four Bundesliga encounters, however, and Hoffenheim picked up just a single point in that series. Eight matches without victory would represent Hoffenheim’s longest barren spell for five years.
Though the Croatia international has returned to the side in the last two games - scoring once to take his tally to seven in just five top-flight matches this term - he has only been able to help his team to successive draws. The Croatian was enjoying an 11-goal hot streak, with seven falling in his four appearances in 2020/21. Hoeneß is without Dennis Geiger, who starts a three-match ban following his red card in the 1-1 draw with Mainz last time out, and he joins injured club captain Benjamin Hübner and Czech Republic international Pavel Kaderabek on the sidelines.
Hoffenheim: Baumann (c) - Posch, Vogt, Akpoguma, Sessegnon - Grillitsch, Samassekou - Skov, Baumgartner, Kramaric - Dabbur
Out: Bicakcic (knee), Geiger (suspended), Hübner (ankle), Kaderabek (muscular), Stafylidis (shoulder)
Doubtful: Adamyan (not included), Bruun Larsen (not included)
Coach: Sebastian Hoeneß
Twelve points from nine matches are Augsburg’s best return in their Bundesliga history at the start of the season. Their main offensive weapon, Ruben Vargas, who has three Bundesliga goals from eight appearances this season, will be part of an Augsburg side likely to be without Alfred Finnbogason as the Iceland international continues his recovery from an ankle injury sustained in the Matchday 8 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Daniel Caligiuri, Hahn and Vargas have each scored three times this season. Florian Niederlechner, Augsburg’s 13-goal top scorer last term, hasn’t found the net in a league match since Matchday 33 of 2019/20.
That point was followed by another on Matchday 9 at home to Freiburg and means the visitors head to Sinsheim with just one loss in their last four games, part of a club-record tally of 12 points at this stage of a top-flight season. Andre Hahn is the favorite to play in Finnbogason's stead. Augsburg has scored six of their 11 goals in the final quarter of matches, putting them level league-wide in that regard with Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. In doing so, they’ve claimed six points.
Augsburg: Gikiewicz - Framberger, Gouweleeuw, Uduokhai, Iago - Caligiuri, Khedira, Strobl, Vargas - Niederlechner, Hahn
Out: Bazee (knee), Jensen (ankle), Moravek (thigh)
Doubtful: Finnbogason (ankle), Pedersen (muscular)
Coach: Heiko Herrlich

In the match of the teams with a different approach, one goal can make a complete change of power. Hoffenheim will attack and Augsburg will try to exploit spaces behind the hosts defense and both teams to score looks like the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
