After holding RB Leipzig on Friday, can Hoffenheim overcome Matthias Ginter's Borussia Mönchengladbach on Wednesday? Read our reasons for Hoffenheim vs M'gladbach prediction and betting tips.
Hoffenheim can take heart from two solid defensive performances against Bayer Leverkusen and Leipzig, but their lack of attacking output is a cause for concern. In those two goalless draws, Sebastian Hoeneß's men failed to muster a single shot on target, and they need to get back to scoring ways to avoid being dragged into the relegation dogfight. Andrej Kramaric is the most likely man to end the drought, having already netted 14 times in the Bundesliga this term, although the Croatian has only found the back of the net once in his last eight outings. Seven-goal Ihlas Bebou could be restored to the starting line-up after coming off the bench against Leipzig, with Georginio Rutter, Sargis Adamyan, Munas Dabbur, and Ishak Belfodil among the host of other attacking options. Hoeneß should have less need to tinker in defense, although he may choose to restore his traditional three-man backline after going four at the back in Leipzig. Bayern Munich loanee Chris Richards will be involved regardless, while Sebastian Rudy and Kevin Akpoguma should be available after shaking off knocks. Hoeneß's men are winless in five Bundesliga outings, since a 2-1 win at UEFA Champions League contenders Wolfsburg in early March.
Hoffenheim: Baumann (c) - Nordtveit, Posch, Richards - Kaderabek, Rudy, Samassekou, Sessegnon - Baumgartner - Bebou, Kramaric
Out: Bicakcic (knee), Geiger (hamstring), Hübner (ankle), Stafylidis (shoulder)
Doubtful: Adamyan (hamstring), Akpoguma (knock), Gacinovic (ankle), Grillitsch (shoulder), Vogt (calf)
Coach: Sebastian Hoeneß
Gladbach travel to Sinsheim with renewed hope of landing a European qualification spot. The Foals extended their unbeaten run to three matches with a thumping 4-0 win over fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt to close to within four points of the top six. German international Jonas Hofmann starred in the absence of top-scoring captain Lars Stindl, netting one and making another before suffering a concussion, but he has been passed fit to play. Swiss forward Breel Embolo is on standby, although Hannes Wolf might have something to say about that after putting away his second substitute goal of the campaign last time out. Stindl isn't expected back, while first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer serves the second of a two-match ban following his sending off in the 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin. Veteran stopper Tobias Sippel, who has kept seven clean sheets in 16 competitive appearances for Gladbach, will deputize once again. Gladbach has finished in the top half of the Bundesliga in each of the last 10 seasons, coming as high as third in 2014/15. They have qualified for Europe on six occasions during that period.
Gladbach: Sippel - Lainer, Ginter (c), Elvedi, Bensebaini - Kramer, Neuhaus - Lazaro, Hofmann, Thuram - Plea
Out: Sommer (suspended), Stindl (muscular)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Marco Rose

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
