Huddersfield Town and Norwich City open their campaigns on Saturday, 12 September at John Smith's Stadium (Huddersfield) and the game kicks off at 3pm (UK).
Having not won on the opening day since 2017/2018 season, the Terriers will look forward to open their campaign with a good result with a new manager Carlos Corberan at the helm. They will also want to make up for the Carabao Cup exit to Rochdale, which was actually their first competitive match of the 20/21 campaign. Even though the fans didn't took too well to the ousting of Danny Cowley, they welcome the prospect of more exciting football.
The Canaries are certainly not the first team to storm the Championship and then underperform immensely in the top flight. They won only five games last season, and a run of ten straight defeats at the end meant they were relegated well before the final day. However, the key ingredients are still there. Good training facilities, title-winning manager, good sporting director and a squad full of new signings.
HUDDERSFIELD VS NORWICH MATCH ANALYSIS
Carlos Corberan may prove to be the key addition for Huddersfield Town. Danny Cowley succeeded in keeping them up, but the club decided they wanted a more adventurous approach this season. They put their trust in a head-coach whose managing career includes only few spells in Cyprus, but the more important was the time he spent as an under-23 coach under Bielsa in Leeds.
The new manager will give a new look to the team, but it will take some time for the players to get familiar with what is asked from them. Apart from Pipa, a defender from Espanol, it looks like that there won't be too many new faces around, and the club may look to promote from within. On paper, their squad still looks good enough to spend the season in a relegation battle, so the key might be a change of the team's mind-set.
As for Norwich, they have been really busy with transfers this summer, with eleven new signings so far. They have a good football structure in place and an improved depth means no drastic overhauls will be needed any time soon. Daniel Farke has really stamped his authority at this club, and without doubt everything else but a return to the Premier League will be considered a disappointment.
Their season gets underway away at Huddersfield, their fifth opener in a row they get to play away from home.Farke's team really struggled on the road last year and failed to score in 11 in their 15 away defeats. It remains to be seen whether the addition of Jordan Hugill who scored 13 goals while on loan at QPR, will reanimate a little tired Teemu Pukki who seemed a bit tired last season.

In their head-to-head matches both sides have been equally successful, recording both 13 wins in this fixture and 17 draws. The Terriers, however, had more success recently, being unbeaten in the last three games against the Norfolk club. Their last encounter in 2016/2017 campaign, which ended in a 3-0 win for the Town, was also the sixth match in a row where there were more than 2.5 goals in a match.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
