SD Huesca will be hosting visiting club Cádiz at Estadio El Alcoraz in the La Liga fixture.
Two newly-promoted teams will lock horns in Spain's top flight on Sunday afternoon. Huesca started their 2020-21 La Liga campaign with an impressive point at Villarreal last weekend, while Cadiz lost 2-0 at home to Osasuna on their return to this level of football. Huesca earned promotion back to La Liga for the 2020-21 campaign courtesy of winning last season's Segunda Division, finishing one point clear of second-place Cadiz at the summit. The fact that Huesca lost 14 of their 42-league matches and still won the division is a surprise, but they do have previous in Spain's top flight, competing at this level in 2018-19, ultimately finishing 19th. It could be another difficult campaign for the club, but Michel's side picked up an impressive result on the opening weekend of the season, drawing 1-1 with Villarreal. Míchel Sánchez's SD Huesca have seen rewards for their attempts on goal a sum total of 8 times over their prior six outings. The corresponding tally of goals that have been scored against them in those same games stands at 5.
Cadiz, meanwhile, suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Osasuna last weekend, with Adrian Lopez and Ruben Garcia on the scoresheet for the visitors at Estadio Ramon de Carranza. The Yellow Submarine were regulars in La Liga between 1981 and 1993 but have largely been a second-tier or third-tier side since, only playing one campaign of top-flight football since the 1992-93 season. Alvaro Cervera's side, as mentioned, finished second behind Huesca in the Segunda Division last term, but they picked up four points from their two matches against them. Over the course of 5 of the prior six clashes featuring Cádiz, a relatively low number of goals have been hit between them and opposing sides. The overall average goals scored per game within that period is a mere 1.67, with the average goals for Submarino amarillo standing at 0.67. That pattern won’t necessarily be sustained here, of course.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams at this level of football, but Cadiz have plenty of players with experience of La Liga, namely Alvaro Negredo, who joined on a free transfer this summer. We’re therefore anticipating a good battle with a win for SD Huesca at the end of the match.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
