Inter Milan meet Getafe in Wednesday’s upcoming Europa League meeting.
With three European Cups and three UEFA Cups to their name, Inter Milan are a club steeped in history on the European stage. They for sure will be looking for a repeat result of a 0-2 Serie A success versus Atalanta. However, they have not tasted success since winning the Champions League in 2010, and this season they could only finish third in their section in the group stage, so dropping into the Europa League. When it comes to the Serie A campaign 2019-2020, Inter, though, also was very desperate to secure second place, which represents their best placing in Italy's top flight since 2010-11. Indeed, they have not finished higher than fourth in any of their last eight campaigns. The Milan giants have fallen just short in terms of the title, but there is no question that the team have made significant progress under the leadership of Antonio Conte. I Nerazzurri won more points (82) than they have managed in any season since winning the title in 2009-10.
Last reports suggest Inter Milan determined to bring Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi to San Siro next summer, and are prepared to offer the South American a four-year contract worth €260 million.
Getafe are making just their third appearance in Europe this season, and they have never gone beyond the quarter-finals. The lack of a home leg may hinder them more than the Italian side. Since a losing effort in their last game against Levante in La Liga competition, Getafe will be hoping to turn things around here. And to add when it comes to their La Liga appearance during latest campaign, they looked like on a course for a top-four finish in the first half of the season, but Jose Bordalas's side then drifted out of contention and their Europa League spot is was serious jeopardy. Despite an incredibly strong start to the campaign where Getafe only lost four times before the turn of the year, the European contenders have only mustered two wins from their last 14 in the top tier. And if we add a tendency of at least one team not scoring a goal in games involving Getafe has become apparent recently. The picture is pretty clear.

There is just a single fitness issue for the Getafe boss José Bordalás to be concerned with. Raúl Carnero won’t be in action. Other than that, all looks good for both of the teams. It will be really difficult for Getafe to find that spot and score the goal against this strong Inter. We, therefore, think that it’s going to be a comfortable win for Inter Milan at the end of the 90 minutes.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
