Inter coach Antonio Conte must cope without Aleksandar Kolarov and Marcelo Brozovic when the Nerazzurri host Torino at San Siro on Sunday.
The two Nerazzurri men returned from international duty positive for coronavirus and Stefano Sensi seems set to miss out again. Inter, who are without a win in four competitive games, aim to bounce back against Marco Giampaolo’s men, but the Granata come from a positive experience ahead of the international break. Inter have won their last two games against Torino and could register three consecutive wins over the Granata for the first time since September 2008.
It was a wide-open Lombardy Derby in Bergamo, when Inter was last time on the pitch, as Aleksei Miranchuk came off the bench and replied to the Lautaro Martinez header. Atalanta and Inter were both somewhat anxious after midweek Champions League defeats and stuttering Serie A results. The Nerazzurri took the lead through an instinctive glancing header from Lautaro Martinez, finding the net without looking. Marco Sportiello made several world-class saves and they paid off, as substitute Miranchuk turned with one swift movement to secure the equalizer.
Inter have a decisive game against Real Madrid on Wednesday next week, but reports in Italy suggest the Beneamata will come out with a strong XI against Torino. Achraf Hakimi should take place at the right, with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez ahead of Nicolò Barella in the attack. Milan Skriniar should get another go in defense, accompanied by Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni, as Andrea Belotti spearheads Torino after an impressive few weeks with the club and national team.
Inter (3-4-1-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Hakimi, Vidal, Gagliardini, Young; Barella; Lukaku, Lautaro
Suspended: none
Injured: Vecino, Sensi, Padelli, Kolarov, Brozovic, Pinamonti
Torino announced two positive tests after the international break too but didn't reveal the identity of the members testing positive. Torino, who will be without the coach due to COVID-19, climbed out of the bottom three with four points in a week, following up a 2-1 win against Genoa with a clean sheet in the goalless draw with newly-promoted Crotone.
Crotone had the better of the first half and tested Salvatore Sirigu, while Torino was denied by the frame of the goal twice after the break. It was at least an end to the run of Toro home defeats, picking up their first point of the season in Turin. The visitors kept the initiative for the first hour, then the Granata emerged from their shells and were unlucky not to find the back of the net. Amin Gojak’s cross-shot bounced off the inside of the far post, then Andrea Belotti couldn’t finish it off from close range.
Torino is not expected to upset the Nerazzurri at San Siro, but the Granata have only lost once in their last five games, including a 3-1 win in extra time over Lecce in the Coppa Italia, and hope to provide a stern test for Conte’s men.
Torino (4-3-1-2): Sirigu; Singo, Bremer, Lyanco, Rodriguez; Meite, Rincon, Linetty; Lukic; Verdi, Belotti
Suspended: none
Injured: Baselli, Izzo
On a yellow card: Rincon

With Inter problems in the defense and more than good Torino attack that failed to find the net in the last game, both teams to score is a very reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
