Italy coach Roberto Mancini is positive for COVID-19, so his assistant Alberigo Evani will be on the bench against Estonia on Wednesday at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Mancini has tested positive a few days ago but he hopes to return for the Nations League and make a quick recovery for matches vs Poland in Reggio-Emilia on November 15 and away to Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 18. In the meantime, assistant manager Evani should be Mancini’s stand-in during the friendly match against Estonia at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence on November 11. Italy comes into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands last month in the UEFA Nations League.
After the injuries of Angelo Ogbonna and Alessio Romagnoli, Italy CT Robert Mancini has called up three additions, including Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni. The Italy Under-21 centre-back has been promoted to the first team. Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari has been called up too, with Mattia Zaccagni of Verona the third late call-up by Mancini. Domenico Criscito and Francesco Caputo have left Italy’s training camp and won’t be available for the upcoming games. Nineteen players trained in Coverciano. Alessandro Bastoni, Andrea Belotti, Federico Bernardeschi, Davide Calabria, Alessio Cragno, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Stephan El Shaarawy, Emerson Palmieri, Roberto Gagliardini, Vincenzo Grifo, Kevin Lasagna, Riccardo Orsolini, Pietro Pellegri, Luca Pellegrini, Matteo Pessina, Salvatore Sirigu, Roberto Soriano, Sandro Tonali and Mattia Zaccagni are those who arrived first and Domenico Berardi, Leonardo Bonucci, Federico Chiesa, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Gian Marco Ferrari, Alessandro Florenzi, Lorenzo Insigne, Jorginho, Moise Kean, Manuel Locatelli and Alex Meret will join their teammates later. Criscito and Caputo left the training camp for physical problems while Francesco Acerbi, Nicolò Barella, Cristiano Biraghi, Gaetano Castrovilli, Bryan Cristante, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Ciro Immobile, Gianluca Mancini, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Leonardo Spinazzola are self-isolating. It is almost sure that Italy will use fringe players to test them against Estonia and save the best for the Nations League.
Italy (4-3-3): Salvatore Sirigu, Danilo D'Ambrosio, Gianluca Mancini, Francesco Acerbi, Cristiano Biraghi, Manuel Locatelli, Bryan Cristante, Gaetano Castrovilli, Domenico Berardi, Moise Kean, Stephan El Shaarawy
Estonia showed signs of improvement in recent months, with the two very interesting draws against much better teams like Armenia and North Macedonia in the previous two Nations League games. The Estonian men's national football team received its first UEFA Nations League point of the season after a 3-3 draw against North Macedonia. For Estonia, this match marked the first goal scored and the first point of the UEFA Nations League after three matches played. As the home team was up two goals 10 minutes before the match end, the final score was not welcomed as a success. Kairat midfielder Kamo Hovhannisyan scored the goal for Armenia which was negated by a goal from Flora attacker Rauno Sappinen for Estonia.
They are winless in the last 11 competitive matches, but they have named an experienced squad, including Al-Ettifaq defender Karol Mets, Flora midfielder Konstantin Vassiljev and Shakhter Karagandy striker Sergei Zenjov. Young midfielder Vladislav Kreida could also turn the attention regarding his skills and individual quality.
Estonia (4-4-2): Karl Jakob Hein, Taijo Teniste, Nikita Baranov, Marten Kuusk, Artur Pikk, Frank Liivak, Vladislav Kreida, Martin Miller, Vlasiy Sinyavskiy, Konstantin Vassiljev, Rauno Sappinen

Italy is despite all the problems clear and big favorite to win the next match. Estonia raised the level of the performances recently but it is far from expected that they can manage a surprise here and Italy win with the clean sheet is the more reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
