Italy meet Spain at the Wembley Stadium (London) in the EURO 2020 Semi-final clash and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Tuesday, July 6. Read our reason for Italy vs Spain prediction and betting tips.
ITALY VS SPAIN, TWO TOP SIDES BATTLE IT OUT AT WEMBLEY
There has been no better team than Italy at Euro 2020 and they are now two games from glory after dumping out Belgium - so how far can they go? Two fantastic goals from Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne were enough for a 2-1 win to set up a semi-final showdown with Spain at Wembley. On the other hand, while they are on a long unbeaten run, Belgium was their first major tournament win against a ‘big’ team. Meanwhile, Spain are into the semi-finals of Euro 2020 - but only just. They needed a penalty shootout to scrape past Switzerland in the quarter-finals, after surviving a scare against Croatia in the last 16. And Spain may be the tournament's top scorers but could a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal ultimately cost them?
A DEFINING MOMENT FOR NEW ITALY
Italy beat Belgium 2-0 at the last Euros, but that was a backs-to-the-wall performance, a clinical display of counterattacking football orchestrated by Antonio Conte. Italy’s approach here could not have been more different. Nicolò Barella had already given them the lead in the 31st minute, yet Insigne was still pouring forward together with the rest of his team in the 44th, resolving, as the Azzurri have all through this tournament, that the best way to defend a lead was to try to make it even bigger.
Roberto Mancini’s conviction is that his team ought to be having fun and to bring a nation something to smile about after the horrors of the last year-and-a-half. Italy, who have not won the Euros since 1968, have not lost a game in almost three years. They are unbeaten in 32 matches and have now won 13 in a row, only conceding twice in that time. Also, few of those wins had come against big sides, but we believe the Azzuri have what it takes to beat Spain.
TIP #1: If the Azzurri can continue to deliver in the key moments, odds for them to win and both teams to score appeal from the Italy vs Spain tips.
WILL STRIKER SHORTCOMINGS COST SPAIN?
Three-time champions Spain survived another scare to beat 10-man Switzerland in a dramatic penalty shootout to reach the semi-finals. Swiss substitute Ruben Vargas blasted his penalty over the bar, allowing Mikel Oyarzabal to score the decider for Spain. Spain did just enough to scrape through, but their toughest test yet will come in the last four against Italy after they knocked out Belgium, the world's top-ranked team.
Also, Luis Enrique's side had 28 shots in total against Switzerland - 10 on target - but they were wasteful. Enrique’s frustration with his forwards was plain to see, with the much-maligned Alvaro Morata hauled off after 54 minutes. La Roja are making life hard for themselves and it could cost now, when it is all down to fine margins at the business end of Euro 2020. La Roja will have to sharpen up in attack to progress further.
TIP #2: Only France's Kylian Mbappe has had more shots without scoring than Gerard Moreno. He had six shots when he came on, missing several huge chances in extra time. Let’s move on to our next tip by backing him to score at any time.

Italy have been the most eye-catching team at Euro 2020 and are fancied to see off Spain in the semi-finals on current form. The Azzurri will have to work hard to press La Roja’s smooth passing play, but have been far more clinical up front when chances come. We’re happy to take the odds for Roberto Mancini’s side to win in normal time for the final BettingKick’s Italy vs Spain prediction.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
