Juventus are currently unbeaten in the league but will have to be cautious against a tricky Atalanta side.
Having started the season in un-convincing fashion, Juventus have slowly but surely started to improve under rookie boss Andrea Pirlo with the giants of Italian football remaining unbeaten in their last 10 matches in all competitions with 8 wins, including an impressive 3-0 triumph at Barcelona in CL duty last week while they followed that up with a 3-1 success in Genoa.
Paulo Dybala broke his duck for this Serie A season and Stefano Sturaro scored an acrobatic equaliser, but Juventus only beat Genoa thanks to two late Cristiano Ronaldo penalties. La Joya desperately needed a confidence booster after losing his place to Alvaro Morata and was given the chance to shine from the start at Marassi. He took it, gathering the Weston McKennie knock-down to cut inside a defender and drill into the near bottom corner. Sturaro netted against his old club with an impressive volley from a tight angle, while Juve had two goals ruled offside. Ronaldo confirmed his excellent record from the spot by converting both penalties, awarded following defensive errors caused by frantic Genoa defending.
Juventus will have to do without star defenders Giorgio Chiellini and Merih Demiral going into this game. Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt are set to continue with their defensive partnership against Atalanta.
Juventus (4-4-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Matthijs de Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Juan Cuadrado, Rodrigo Bentancur, Adrien Rabiot, Weston McKennie; Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo
Papu Gomez was relegated to the bench against Fiorentina because of 'strained relations' with Gian Piero Gasperini and the Argentinean could leave Atalanta in January. Gomez reportedly refused Gasperini’s orders during the Champions League match between La Dea and FC Midtjylland back in November and the relationship between them seems now deteriorated. Even if the club’s CEO Luca Percassi insisted none of them will leave in January, the Argentinean star could be on his way out of the Gewiss Stadium.
Atalanta dominated their encounter with Fiorentina and would’ve won by more than 3-0 if not for Bartlomiej Dragowski saves. The Viola shot-stopper was decisive in the first half, twice on Duvan Zapata headers from point-blank range. He was eventually beaten when the Colombian pulled back from the by-line for Robin Gosens instead. Ruslan Malinovskyi’s trademark free kick and a Rafael Toloi header completed the rout.
Mario Pasalic, Aleksey Miranchuk, and Mattia Caldara are currently injured and will not be able to feature in this game. Ruslan Malinovskiy is back in the squad and might start this game.
Atalanta (3-4-3): Pierluigi Gollini; Berat Djimsiti, Cristian Romero, Rafael Toloi; Robin Gosens, Remo Freuler, Marten de Roon, Hans Hateboer; Matteo Pessina, Ruslan Malinovskiy, Duvan Zapata

Juventus are turning their season around, with three wins in a row and improving performances. Atalanta had many ups and downs and they are still not reliable enough, so both teams to score could be the more reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
