Juventus hosts Porto trailing by a goal from the first leg. Read our reasons for Juventus vs Porto prediction and betting tips.
Andrea Pirlo thanked his Juventus players for their professionalism and spirit of sacrifice’ after fighting back to beat Lazio 3-1, even if we started the game 20 minutes late.’ It was a poor start, Joaquin Correa giving Lazio the deserved lead, canceled out by an Adrien Rabiot scorcher, until Alvaro Morata bagged a brace in three minutes. “We started badly and conceded with our poor backpass, but then there was a strong reaction from the whole team, despite missing so many players. We didn’t let our heads drop, we started to step up the tempo and that was the most important thing,” Pirlo told the media. The Bianconeri transformed their line-up with Cristiano Ronaldo benched, Danilo in midfield for a 4-2-3-1 formation, and Federico Bernardeschi at left-back. “We thought about Tuesday’s game, we have some players who have barely trained, like Cuadrado and Arthur. We knew tonight was like a final, some had to play in new positions and showed great professionalism and a spirit of sacrifice.
Juventus have conceded only 10 goals in the second half this season, so does it mean they need time to get into gear? “We started the game 20 minutes late tonight… It can happen because some players were returning, others were in new positions, and it’s tough to get back into it after going behind to a Lazio side who have been together for years and had all week to prepare. The most important thing was the three points. Danilo was ready to work in central midfield, while Bernardeschi deserves all the compliments for playing as a left-back. What I liked the most was the reaction of the team, as we didn’t accept being behind in such a delicate and important game, so it was that spirit I appreciated.”
Andrea Pirlo's significant injury list is shorter, with Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt closing in on a return to the squad, while Leonardo Bonucci and Arthur both came off the bench in the second half of Saturday's win over Lazio and Juan Cuadrado was fit enough to play 70 minutes. Paulo Dybala remains injured, while Rodrigo Bentancur tested positive for COVID-19 late last week. Also, versatile defender Danilo - who featured in midfield last time out - is suspended. The Juventus rearguard will necessarily be a mix-and-match affair then, with Pirlo most likely to pair Bonucci with Merih Demiral in central defense, allowing Alex Sandro to switch back to the left flank. Alvaro Morata should be favored to start alongside Cristiano Ronaldo upfront, with Dejan Kulusevski dropping to the bench.
Juventus: Szczesny; Cuadrado, Bonucci, Demiral, Sandro; Chiesa, Rabiot, McKennie, Ramsey; Morata, Ronaldo
Juventus and Porto have faced each other only six times in their history. The first match was the 1983-84 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final in Basel, in which Juventus won 2-1. The Bianconeri have won four of their six games, with Porto's 2-1 win in February being the first time the Portuguese side have defeated the Old Lady. The Dragons have a terrible record in Italy, losing eight and drawing three of their 15 games. Porto crashed out of the Taca de Portugal at the semifinal stage, losing 2-3 (agg 3-4) to 10-man Braga. A 2-0 away win over relegation-threatened Gil Vicente followed. However, that was scant consolation as Porto are 10 points behind league leaders and rivals Sporting Lisbon.
The visitors have concerns over the availability of key men Pepe and Jesus Corona, who both returned from the weekend trip having suffered injuries. The former Real Madrid center-back suffered a calf strain, while 'Tecatito' was hurt in an aerial collision. Porto's Chancel Mbemba is expected to be unavailable again, while Ivan Marcano may also not be fit enough to feature in Turin, causing a potential selection problem in central defense if Pepe cannot play. Having posed Juventus several problems in the first leg - and both found the net - Moussa Marega and Mehdi Taremi are set to be paired in Sergio Conceicao's front two.
Porto: Marchesin; Manafa, Pepe, Mbemba, Zaidu; Oliveira, Uribe, Otavio, Corona; Taremi, Marega

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
