Sassuolo is looking for their second Serie A win against Juventus, who are struggling with a number of absentees ahead of the match on Sunday.
Juventus, who have won two games since football resumed, are looking for their third consecutive win for the first time since July. Great 3-1 win against league-leading Milan was overshadowed as Andrea Pirlo has problems at the back ahead of the match against Sassuolo. Matthijs de Ligt joined the list of absentees as the COVID-19 problems continue for the Old Lady ahead of the big game against the Neroverdi. Last week, Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado missed out against Milan and now they are joined by De Ligt.
The Dutch defender had missed the first part of the season due to a shoulder injury, but he has been in great shape since his return and was on the pitch in the 3-1 win over League leaders Milan. Italian media believe that he is almost certainly unavailable at least until the match against Inter on January 17. Danilo, Gianluca Frabotta, Leonardo Bonucci, returning Giorgio Chiellini, Merih Demiral and youngster Radu Dragusin are the defenders available for the match against the Neroverdi. Juventus have only lost once in 14 games against Sassuolo in Serie A and have won 10 of their previous clashes. Alvaro Morata will sit out too.
Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Demiral, Bonucci, Danilo; Chiesa, McKennie, Arthur, Ramsey, Frabotta; Dybala, Ronaldo
Suspended: none
Injured: Morata, Alex Sandro, Cuadrado, De Ligt
On a yellow card: Rabiot
Sassuolo attacker Domenico Berardi has suffered an injury to the right thigh and he will miss out on the match against Juventus on Sunday. The forward was stopped by a muscle injury in the 2-1 win over Genoa during the week and the club confirmed the tests have revealed an injury to the flexors of his right thigh. Sassuolo is fifth in Serie A, one point behind Juventus, and Berardi has contributed seven goals in 15 games so far this term.
Sassuolo ruined Genoa coach Davide Ballardini’s birthday with a 2-1 victory, as Jeremie Boga scored one and created another. The Neroverdi winger made the most of a stunning Manuel Locatelli cross-field pass after Gianluca Scamacca had hit the post against his parent club. Uzbekistan international Eldor Shomurodov confirmed his fine form with the equalizing header, but Boga’s cross found the head of Giacomo Raspadori for all three points.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men have an abysmal record from the away games against the Torino giants. With only one point from seven trips to Juventus, the visitors hope to take advantage of the problems at the back for Andrea Pirlo.
Sassuolo (4-2-3-1): Consigli; Toljan, Chiriches, Ferrari, Rogerio; Bourabia, Locatelli; Traore, Djuricic, Boga; Caputo
Suspended: none
Injured: Romagna, Ricci, Berardi

Sassuolo forward Francesco Caputo has been involved in five goals in four games against Juventus, scoring three and assisting two and so both teams to score looks like a good betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
