It could be a long day at the office for struggling Koln when Erling Haaland and Borussia Dortmund visit the RheinEnergieStadion on Saturday. Read our reasons for Koln vs Dortmund prediction and betting tips.
Koln has collected a league-low one point across their last five matches, and begin the weekend hovering one point above the relegation play-off spot. If results go against them once more, the Billy Goats could find themselves in the automatic relegation zone for the first time since Matchday 8. With Jannes Horn suspended and Sebastian Bornauuw out through injury, Rafael Czichos is set to line up alongside in defense alongside Jorge Mere and Noah Katterbach. Kingsley Ehizibue started the 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin at right-back, but it remains to be seen whether head coach Markus Gisdol sticks with a four-man defense or reverts to the three-man backline that underpinned the 2-1 win in Dortmund earlier in the season.
Crystal Palace loanee Max Meyer should keep his place in midfield, while Club Brugge-owned Emmanuel Dennis offers a more natural alternative to Ondrej Duda in the lone striker's role. Dennis is still awaiting his first Bundesliga goal. The Nigerian has made seven appearances in Germany's top tier, including five starts.
Koln: T. Horn - Ehizibue, Mere, Czichos, Katterbach - Skhiri, Hector (c) - Wolf, Meyer, Jakobs - Duda
Out: Andersson (knee), Bornauw (back), J. Horn (suspended), Kainz (match fitness)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Markus Gisdol
Dortmund interim coach Edin Terzic has personnel concerns of his own. Left-back Raphael Guerreiro and creator-in-chief Jadon Sancho had already missed a handful of games, when center-back Mats Hummels, right-back Mateu Morey and captain Marco Reus left the field of play in the 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin with knocks. Dan-Axel Zagadou and Thomas Meunier stepped up to the plate in defense, and are expected to continue in the side, but Manuel Akanji is back fit and an alternative option. Julian Brandt, who opened the scoring against Hertha, could assume a more advanced role in Reus's absence, though US teenager Gio Reyna might have something to say about that.
One man whose place in the side can never be questioned is Haaland. The BVB front-man didn't score last time out but is averaging a goal every 89 minutes in this season's Bundesliga. Further strikes in Koln for a player who has only failed to fire in successive Bundesliga matches on four occasions could lift the Black-Yellows back into the top four.
Dortmund: Hitz - Meunier, Can, Hummels (c), Schulz - Bellingham, Delaney, Dahoud - Brandt, Haaland, Hazard
Out: Guerreiro (calf), Sancho (thigh), Schmelzer (knee), Witsel (Achilles' tendon)
Doubtful: Reus (ankle)
Coach: Edin Terzic

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
