Koln is without a point after two matches and there are reasons for optimism on Saturday when Mönchengladbach visits RheinEnergieStadion.
In the match between the last two Bundesliga 2 champions, Bielefeld scored the only goal for the win but the 2018/19 winners had the first chance when Sebastian Andersson headed a cross wide. The Swede had already opened his account with a header against Hoffenheim. The golden opportunity fell to Koln center-back Rafael Czichos as a free-kick bounced through to the far post, but Stefan Ortega spread himself well to keep the tie level going into the break. Without a win in five Bundesliga away games, Cologne looked to push for a goal with the introduction of new signing Dimitrios Limnios, but it was Arminia who found a late breakthrough. After a long ball from goalkeeper Ortega, Edmundsson beat the offside trap, Horn came out but a man from Faroe Island put his shot between the goalkeeper for the club’s first win in the Bundesliga for over 11 years. That left Koln winless in 12 Bundesliga games since their 2-1 victory at Paderborn in March and their 21-match scoring run in the Bundesliga came to an end. It was the longest ongoing streak in the league.
Koln: T. Horn – Ehizibue, Bornauw, Czichos, J. Horn – Skhiri, Hector (c) – Rexhbecaj, Duda, Thielmann – Andersson
Doubtful: Mere (match fitness), Schmitz (ankle)
Out: Jakobs (muscular), Kainz (knee)

Marcus Thuram netted his first Bundesliga goal in almost four months last Saturday, but Borussia Mönchengladbach had to settle for a draw against Union Berlin after Nico Schlotterbeck's late equalizer.
The 10,000 fans at Borussia-Park have been happy to see their team's top scorers from last season, Thuram and Alassane Plea, back in the Gladbach starting line-up for the first time since early June, especially following last week's 3-0 loss at the Signal Iduna Park. The visitors stand firm and had their best opportunity on the half-hour, with Dutch winger Sheraldo Becker rattling the crossbar. Plea was the hosts' biggest goal threat, testing Luthe from a Jonas Hofmann corner, but the contest remained finely poised at 0-0 heading into the break.
Gladbach came flying in the second half, shortly after center-back Matthias Ginter tried his luck from the edge of the area, Thuram put them in front. Son of the French legendary defender Lillian outmuscled Christopher Trimmel to head in another Hofmann corner from close range, with the ball taking a slight deflection off the Union captain on its way in. Thuram scored his first goal since Gladbach's home meeting with Union on Matchday 29 of last season when he netted a brace in a 4-1 win. Marcus and his compatriot Plea were the Gladbach’s top scorers in the Bundesliga last season with 10 goals apiece. The hosts looked to be comfortably closing on three points when Schlotterbeck connected with a Marcus Ingvartsen corner and looped a brilliant header over Lars Stindl into the back of the net for a final 1-1 score. Borussia and Switzerland No.1 Yann Sommer made his 200th Bundesliga appearance in the game but couldn’t reach the ball on this occasion.
Gladbach: Sommer – Lainer, Ginter, Elvedi, Bensebaini – Kramer, Neuhaus – Thuram, Stindl (c), Hofmann – Plea
Doubtful: Embolo (match fitness)
Out: Benes (ankle), Beyer (Covid-19), Lazaro (calf), Poulsen (shoulder), Villalba (muscular)
Coach: Marco Rose

Koln will have a more defensive approach than in the first two games because they know the power of Gladbach’s counter-attacks so under 2,5 seems to be a reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
