Latvia will be going head-to-head at home against Norway in the World Cup Qualifiers competition this Saturday evening. The match kicks off at 17:00 (UK) at Daugavas Stadions (Riga). Read our reasons for the prediction and betting tips of the match Latvia vs. Norway.
After beating Gibraltar on Wednesday, Latvia will be in a good mood heading into this weekend's match. Norway will be aiming for revenge after being held to a draw by the Netherlands at home. It will be difficult for Latvia if it becomes complacent after its previous victory and forgets how much Norway is hungry for a victory.
National teams began fighting for a berth in the 2022 World Cup this week, marking the return of the competition. When Latvia defeated Gibraltar 3-1 in a match where it battled hard to the finish, the country couldn't get its smiles off its face. The country scored its winning goals in the 85th and 89th minutes. In comparison to Norway, Gibraltar may not be as competitive as one would anticipate, and therefore there is nothing to be comfortable with for Latvia.
Even though it did not control the game, Norway could attack for a goal when opportunities presented themselves. Haaland, the Dortmund attacker, came close to claiming a victory for Norway but was denied victory in the derby. Although the Netherlands appeared to be a threat at times, Norway opposed the idea of joining forces. In the 20th minute, Haaland gave Norway the lead, but Wijnaldum turned the game around by providing a beautiful ball to Davy Klaassen, who converted the opportunity in the 37th minute to give the hosts the victory. After a 1-1 tie in the first half, the second half was scoreless, and the game finished in a share of the points. Norway will be aiming for their third victory of the season.
After 29 matches played since 2018, it is undeniable that Latvia has only won four of them, which is an unacceptable statistic. Since 1998, the two teams have played twice, with each side taking one victory. The current shape of Norway appears to be more competitive than that of Latvia. Norway has surrendered six goals in its past five matches, while Latvia has conceded fourteen in the same period. The player to keep an eye on in this game is Erling Braut Haaland, Norway's all-time leading goal scorer.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
