Lazio wants to keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive, while Serie A survival is not yet guaranteed for Benevento. Read our reasons for Lazio vs Benevento prediction and betting tips.
The Biancocelesti are six points off fourth-placed Atalanta, but have a game in hand, while Benevento sits 16th, eight points clear of Cagliari. Simone Inzaghi will miss the meeting with his brother Filippo if he doesn’t recover from COVID. His assistant Massimiliano Farris leaded Lazio to their 1-0 away win at Hellas Verona last week. He was proud of Lazio after their 1-0 win over Hellas Verona, thanks to a ‘fantastic’ Sergej Milinkovic-Savic goal. A late goal from the Serbian midfielder helped the Biancocelesti to claim the three points and keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive. “You don’t win this game with a single episode, the team played well and with our hearts. I am proud to be here to guide this team, we believed we could make it until the end, and we never gave up,” Farris told the media. “Milinkovic scored a fantastic goal. We need his physical strength to win duels, and his presence inside the box is crucial. He scored one of his classic goals. [Ciro] Immobile is unlucky lately. He’s done so much for Lazio, and everyone in the dressing room loves him. Today’s performance was great. He hit the post too. We miss his goals, but we are sure he will help us in the final part of the season.”
Felipe Caicedo had a goal disallowed after a VAR check. “He lashed out an arm, but his shirt was being tugged too. The referee favored a laissez-faire approach, and he could have given the goal, but the VAR referee called him.’’ Farris replaced Simone Inzaghi, who had tested positive for COVID earlier this week. ‘’The Mister made his presence felt during the week. It’s important that he and his family feel well.”

Filippo Inzaghi believes 'everything is in Benevento’s hands', with the Streghe needing seven or eight points to gain Serie A's survival. Benevento suffered a home 1-0 defeat against Sassuolo, but the Neroverdi’s goalkeeper Andrea Consigli was decisive with two crucial saves on the stoppages. “When the goalkeeper is the man of the match, it means the team gave everything. Consigli always puts in great performances when he plays against us,” Inzaghi told the media. “Even Inter defended deep against Sassuolo, but it's a pity we conceded that goal. Boga went all the way down and didn’t even dribble past our defenders, it was too easy for him,” the former striker added. It’s all in our hands now. We are eight points above the relegation zone, and it all depends on us. We have surprised everyone, but we need another seven or eight points to gain survival. The points are essential at this point. We’ve never been among the last three in the table, we wanted to score at all costs today, and maybe we deserved to pick up a draw. We could have avoided conceding that goal. Some players are recovering their best form, Letizia has returned to action. Right now, we have two different systems, and we have achieved great results with both,” the coach ended.
Benevento (3-5-2): Montipò; Caldirola, Glik, Barba; Depaoli, Ionita, Schiattarella, Hetemaj, Letizia; Caprari, Gaich

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
