Leeds host Fulham on the second Premier League day at Elland Road on Saturday, September 19 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side is looking to establish themselves back in the Premier League, after a 16-year absence from English football's top flight. They had their debut last weekend against the reigning champions Liverpool, and they certainly didn't look as pushovers. They lost, but it was obvious for all to see that they will give hard time any opposition, no matter where in the table they are. We are definitely supposed to expect a lot more from this Leeds side.
On the other hand, the last season's play-off winners in the Championship, Fulham, suffered a disappointing home defeat to their London rivals, Arsenal. The Cottagers have a decent squad, but the worry remains whether they have enough quality to stay up. This game exposed all their shortcomings and weaknesses, and if they want to pick up any points from the trip to Leeds, they will have to raise their game dramatically.
LEEDS VS FULHAM MATCH ANALYSIS
After their Liverpool game few things became crystal clear. First, what Bielsa demands from his team won't be matched by many teams outside the top four. Their pressing is relentless and the opponents will have to count on hard work to respond to Leeds' intensity which only few teams will be able to match. If they can keep doing it week after week is what remains to be seen.
Leeds addressed the striker issue by signing Valencia's Rodrigo in a club record £27m deal. He entered from the bench and unfortunately was the one to blame for the late penalty that gave Liverpool the three points. Another player whose debut didn't go as planned was Robin Koch, who handed the ball for the first goal and was caught out of position for the Liverpool's second. Leeds are a good crop of players, and as it seems all Bielsa has to do is fine tune them. Against Fulham, they will go out strongly in pursuit of first win.
Unlike Leeds, who could take only positives from their defeat, Fulham's loss against the Gunners was a stern reminder that team will have to step up their game if they want to avoid relegation again. On two previous occasions they were in the Premier League - in 2013-14 and 2018-19 - they didn't last a season and conceded the most goals in the league both times.
Against Arsenal, new signings were left on the bench as Scott Parker started with the same team who beat Brentford in the Championship play-off final, trying obviously to emulate that game. It misfired and by the time Aleksandar Mitrovic entered the game it was already too late. The lack of service from the midfield was again painfully obvious and the squad's depth and quality is questionable. They will have to grab every opportunity they get this season, and to get something from the trip to Leeds will be almost a mission impossible as it seems.

Saturday's rivals played their most recent match in December when Fulham won 2-1. The stats also say that five of their last nine matches were without a winner, while Fulham came on top three times. The Whites won only one game in that period but the fact shouldn't be too damning for Leeds on Saturday because Leeds are now obvious favorites, even though both teams played in the second division last year.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
