Leicester host Aston Villa in the 5th round of the Premier League at King power Stadium (Leicester) on Sunday, October 18 and the match kicks off at 7.15pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Leicester's 100% record from their first three Premier League came abruptly to an end after suffering their first league defeat to West ham at home (0-3). They are now 3rd in the table with 9 points. Aston Villa also got off to a fantastic start, having won all three games with a game in hand. More importantly, they have continued the unbeaten run from the back end of the last campaign (W6,D2) and capped it off with a nothing short of historic win against champions Liverpool (7-2) on October 4.
MATCH ANALYSIS
The Foxes finished last round with a sensational away win against Man City (2-5) where Vardy scored a hat-trick and Madisson impressed, while their makeshift defense soaked up the pressure better than usual. However, they didn't followed it through and lost comfortably to West Ham at home in their most recent league match. The loss may serve as the remainder of their previous campaign when they were in the top-four most of the campaign only to finish outside the Champions League spots eventually due to various reasons, namely injuries, squad depth and a lack of fighting spirit when it mattered most
Poor form in the second half of the last season, when they won only four of their last 17 league matches and went out of both domestic cups was reflected in their defeat to West Ham. If against Man City they were disciplined and unshaken after falling behind - they were ponderous, imprecise and vulnerable only a week later against the Hammers. Madisson will probably be back in the starting eleven, which will help as Leicester failed to record a shot on target in a Premier League home game for just the third occasion since 2003-04. If they similarly lack aggression in their defending against the in-form Villa side, they risk losing more points.
As for Villa, the early signs are promising and they may prove the doubters wrong as their manager Dean Smith believes, and it's there for all to see, that his team are a better side this season. They have managed to keep most of the last year's stand-out players, namely Jack Grealish, forward Keinan Davis, England centre-back Tyrone Mings, while also signing Bertrand Traore from Lyon. At the start of a new campaign Villa have been more solid and aggressive defensively and their £28m record signing, forward Ollie Watkins has made an immediate impact up front.
Against Liverpool he was immense, scoring a hat-trick in the process. Villa look like a more settled team this season. Spending clever and keeping the key players is already paying off. Against the Reds they mercilessly punished Liverpool's high defensive line and after three successive wins they visit former champions hoping to produce another miraculous performance and continue their unbeaten run.

As for some stats and facts, these two teams have been involved in 9 matches since 2014 where Leicester have a slight advantage with 4 wins to Villa's 3 victories. Other two matches finished without a winner. Last fixture was won comfortably by Leicester (4-0) in March 2020, but Villa are completely different kettle of fish these days.
Both teams have scored in 7 out last 9 games and the total number of goals was 3.09 in their last 11 competitive fixtures.
My prediction for this match is: Over 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
