LEICESTER VS BRAGA MATCH ANALYSIS
Leicester dispatched their Ukrainian visitors Zorya Luhansk at home (3-0) in their group opener. Although they could have scored plenty more, this was a positive beginning to their Europa League group phase. They followed it with another win in Athens against AEK (1-2) in the second round and have won four consecutive matches in all competitions ahead of the clash with Braga on Thursday.
As for the Portuguese side, Braga is also on six points in group G and are only on goal difference below Leicester in the table after initial two wins in Europa League. Braga is in fine form as they have won their last six matches, four in Primeira Liga and two – against AEK at home (3-0) and Zorya away (1-2) – in the Europa League.
The Foxes’ European campaign is their first appearance in the competition since season 2000/01. If anyone wondered how much Leicester’s stars will feature in Europe, Brendon Rodgers showed that he takes the Europa League very seriously as he fielded the best possible eleven against AEK.Both teams aim to keep their 100% record intact in the group stage, but Leicester are seen as favourites.
Also, in Jamie Vardy they have one of the most lethal strikers in Europe. With his goal against AEK, he is now Leicester’s best and oldest ever scorer in Europe. With his pace and finishing he makes so much difference to the Foxes. However, AEK made Leicester work hard for their win after they got one goal back and Braga will certainly not be a pushover on Thursday.
Braga, on the other side, impressively progressed through their Europa League group unbeaten last season and they look set for another strong group stage campaign after two wins on the trot. Against Zorya last week, they were comfortably ahead with two goals at half-time and, despite conceding once, never looked out of control of the match.
They are also 3rd in their national championship and have strung a winning streak of 6 games in all comps. Carlos Carvalhal’s side is definitely a real force at home, but they can struggle on their travels, which is something the Foxes will surely look to exploit. Anyhow, whoever wins this, will be a favourite to top the group G.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
