LEICESTER VS BRIGHTON MATCH ANALYSIS
The Foxes were on a six-game winning run in all competitions and top of the Premier League before suffering back-to-back defeats against Liverpool (3-0) at Anfield and, more surprisingly, against Fulham at home (1-2). Those two defeats pushed Leicester down the standings to 4th, where they remain with 21 points after they bounced back with a win at Sheffield (1-2) last weekend. As for Brighton, the Seagulls were on a little three-game unbeaten run in the top division (W1, D2). They managed to get only a goalless draw from the Burnley game, but they have topped it with a second away league win against Aston Villa (1-2) in Birmingham before they drew against Liverpool (1-1). That run ended last weekend with a home defeat to Southampton, which saw them remain in 16th place with 10 points.
Leicester were without a win in their last four games in all competitions (D1-L3) after winning six games on the trot. Brendan Rodgers' side could have gone top of the Premier League with a victory at Anfield a fortnight ago, which is a testimony to their fine start to the season. Instead, they followed it with a defeat to Zorya Luhansk (1-0) in the Europa League and a shocking defeat to Fulham at the King Power Stadium. However, they responded well against the Blades, even though the win did not come easy.
As for the game itself, the Blades looked set to secure only their second point of the season when Oli McBurnie scored his first of the campaign after Ayoze Perez had given the visitors the lead. But with just a few minutes of the match remaining, James Maddison assisted Jamie Vardy, who slotted home past Aaron Ramsdale. The one negative for Rodgers was that his side conceded from a set-piece for the eighth time this season.
Brighton, on the other hand, were always going to struggle this season. Apart from Maupay, their new young full-back Lamptey and centre-back Ben White, who have been stand-out performers so far, there are not too many positives for Graham Potter. All that could change as the Seagulls showed real character in their win at Birmingham and in the way they came from behind to share the spoils with title-holders Liverpool. They showed the flashes of those performances against the Saints last weekend again but were dealt a sucker punch as the time was about to expire.
The Seagulls looked on course for a point until March was penalised for a late foul on Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters. Brighton's high pressing saw Saints lose possession on the edge of their own penalty area on several occasions. Moreover, when Vestergaard equalised, he did so with Southampton's first effort on target in the match. The writing on the wall for the Seagulls is that they need to start reaping the rewards their fluent football deserves, particularly in attack.

Leicester are unbeaten in all six of their Premier League head-to-head matches against Brighton (W4 D2), keeping a clean sheet in four of those, while Brighton have won just one of their last eight away games against Leicester in all competitions (D3 L4).
Leicester have lost four of their last six home Premier League games (W2), but Brighton have won just two of their opening 11 games so far (D4 L5), their joint-fewest at this stage of a top-flight campaign in the club’s history.
Without any doubt, the Foxes are determined to cement their spot in top four and the Seagulls have reasons for optimism ahead of the trip to Leicester as they did well to beat Aston Villa in their last away game in the Premier League.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
