Leicester host Leeds at the King Power Stadium (Leicester) in the 21st round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 2 pm (UK) on Sunday, January 31.
LEICESTER VS LEEDS MATCH ANALYSIS
Leicester are on a nine-game streak without a defeat in all competitions (W6, D3) and have won five consecutive games in all competitions – three in the Premier League - prior to their 1-1 draw against Everton on Wednesday. They are 3rd in the standings and can mount a serious title challenge with the maximum points here. As for Leeds, they come into this match on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Brighton and a 1-2 win against Newcastle at St. James’ Park. They are in 12th place in the league but risk moving further away from the top half of the table if they don’t get anything from the Foxes on Sunday.
After a draw in midweek, the Foxes maintain their perfect start to 2021, with Rodgers now overseeing nine games without a defeat after being in danger of dropping off the pace in the title race with their little slump in November. However, Rodgers’ side have clearly shown their title credentials and it is their form on the road which has propelled them into title contention this season - they have only tasted victory in four of their last nine top-flight home matches.
In midweek, Leicester proved their appetite for a Champions League challenge by coming from behind to earn a battling point at Everton. The draw meant the Foxes remain third but are now two points behind leaders Man City, and a point behind Man Utd after their shock 2-1 home defeat by Sheffield Utd. Disappointingly, after being on top for much of the second half, the Foxes did not earn the victory, but they showed they had the mettle to get back into the game when Everton finished the first half stronger.
As for the visitors, the Whites have struggled in recent games, failing to score in back-to-back losses against Tottenham and Brighton, either side of an FA Cup humbling at League Two Crawley. The Whites have been yet again made to pay for their expansive style, missed chances as well as defensive errors. However, they bounced back against Newcastle, which was a decent riposte to their critics.
Raphinha was key to Leeds' win, superbly slotting in the opener after he was found by Rodrigo and then supplying the pass for Harrison's superb winner. It means they have now done the league double over Newcastle for the first time since 1975-76. Leeds' victory came at a cost, though, with Spain international centre-back Diego Llorente limping off less than 10 minutes into his full debut to continue the injury woes he has suffered since joining the club in September.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to record a league double over Leeds after seeing his side win the reverse fixture 4-1 at Leeds on November 2, while Leeds’s only previous Premier League match at the King Power Stadium was back in September 2003.
Encouragingly for the hosts, they are unbeaten in seven Premier League games (W4 D3) but will be even more pleased with their recent form at the King Power Stadium after winning their last two top-flight home games, as many as they had in their previous seven (W2 D1 L4).
Leeds, on the other hand, interestingly, are the only side yet to have an away draw in the Premier League this season, with the Whites winning five and losing five of their 10 games on the road. Leeds rode their luck in midweek but beat Newcastle 2-1, but have now picked up more points away from home than they have at Elland Road.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
