Leicester host Manchester Utd at the King Power Stadium (Leicester) in the FA Cup Quarter-finals and the match kicks off at 5 pm (UK) on Sunday, March 21. Read our reasons for Leicester vs Manchester Utd prediction and betting tips.
Man Utd head into this FA Cup quarter-final just three days after a gruelling Europa League round of 16 second leg away to AC Milan, which is certain to have had an effect on them physically ahead of this tie at Leicester. The Foxes hold a terrible record against United, having not beaten the Red Devils in their last 13 matches in all competitions, although a week’s rest will have done them the world of good ahead of this match, giving their key players a chance to rest and recover in the midst of a tough Premier League schedule.
Leicester are battling it out with United for second place in the Premier League and head into this tie on the back of a 5-0 drubbing of Sheffield Utd in the Premier League. Kelechi Iheanacho hogged the headlines with a hat-trick versus the Blades, but Brendan Rodgers was also buoyed by the performance of Jamie Vardy. The 34-year-old, who has only scored once in 2021 following surgery, had one effort headed off the line by Chris Basham and another saved by Aaron Ramsdale when through one-on-one.
However, United have been good at keeping tabs on Vardy, though, with four goals in 13 encounters a moderate return for such a prolific marksman. The Foxes have reached this stage twice in the last three seasons and were bested by Chelsea (1-2 and 0-1) on both occasions and given the gung-ho nature of these clashes they can be a bit of a minefield to predict. Nevertheless, well-rested Brendan Rodgers’ side would want to make up for the Europa League exit in their only remaining shout for a trophy this season.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just needs to get one more performance out of his players before they all jet off on international duty. United have generally been solid on the road this season and are unbeaten on their last six trips to the King Power Stadium. Returning from Italy in the early hours of Friday morning will leave United's players feeling weary on Sunday, but a 1-0 win at Milan can galvanise them for one more extra push before the two-week break.
The Norwegian does seem comfortable with juggling the challenges of the Europa League and trying to qualify for next season’s Champions League. United were admittedly pegged back twice when drawing 2-2 at this venue in the league on Boxing Day, but they were the better team on that occasion. Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes has been wreaking havoc on oppositions, and with the talismanic Paul Pogba also returning to training, United have a solid midfield ahead of this crucial FA Cup quarter-final clash.

Leicester meet Manchester Utd having previously lost each of the previous two FA Cup clashes with the Red Devils all the way back in 1963 and 1976. However, more discouragingly for the Foxes, they have won just one of their last 25 meetings with Manchester Utd in all competitions (D5, L19), and none of the last 13 (D4, L9) since a 5-3 win at home in September 2014 in the Premier League.
Leicester have claimed some notable scalps over the past few seasons but they don’t seem able to produce their best form when facing Manchester Utd. This match can go either way, but we expect a low-scoring affair with the winner possibly decided in the second half.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
