Leicester host Tottenham at the King Power Stadium (Leicester) in the final 38th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 4 pm (UK) on Sunday, May 23. Read our reasons for Leicester vs Tottenham prediction and betting tips.
Leicester look like they have blown the top four at the death for the second season in a row. The Foxes moved down to fifth on Wednesday night, the first time they have finished a gameweek outside the top four for the first time all season. They now need to beat Tottenham and hope one of Liverpool or Chelsea drop points to be guaranteed a place in the top four. Meanwhile, Tottenham slipped to a poor 2-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa in midweek and there was already a toxic atmosphere inside the ground despite a few thousand in attendance. Harry Kane's desire to leave has not come at a good time for the club either. With nothing going right for Tottenham at the moment, Leicester is the home favourite here.
Leicester came down from an emotional first FA Cup triumph over Chelsea to put in a fairly flat display when beaten 2-1 by the same opponents at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Rudiger’s scrambled opener and a Jorginho penalty gave the Foxes a mountain to climb and they could only reply with a Kelechi Iheanacho consolation. Ayoze Perez should have snatched a last-gasp draw but Brendan Rodgers admitted he knew it would be tough off the back of the weekend.
The locals have been unconvincing of late, winning only one of three. They followed a draw with defeat to Newcastle at this venue but bounced back in some style. Leicester beat Man Utd 2-1 at Old Trafford earlier this month before edging Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley in the FA Cup final last weekend. The FA Cup added to a top-four finish would rank as a stunning season and provide the major with a major boost to the funds available to him in the transfer market. However, the Foxes need to start quickly here for goal difference purposes.
On the other hand, what started as a promising season for Tottenham has become a campaign to forget. Fans haven’t been allowed inside the club’s stunning stadium but have watched on in dismay as Jose Mourinho stumbled from one disappointing result to another. They will finish outside of the top four, which means Spurs’ last match of note in the Champions League remains that defeat to Liverpool in the final. Another summer rebuilding project lies ahead for the club, and the board will be asked to splash the cash on players once again.
Tottenham’s bid to earn a Europa League slot suffered a frustrating setback when they were edged out 2-1 by Aston Villa on home turf. Steven Bergwijn’s first goal of the season put Spurs ahead early on but a spectacular Sergio Reguilon's own goal and Ollie Watkins’ strike turned things around. The players now know they must sign off with a strong performance. They must show they are ready to play a part next season and good enough to drive Tottenham back into contention for the major places.

Leicester meet Tottenham having the home advantage here and carrying the better form of the two sides this season. They will be eager to sign off from what has been a stunning season with another home win. The England captain Harry Kane will still be inspired by the prospect of Golden Boot glory here, though. Leicester and Tottenham must both pick themselves up from damaging midweek defeats as they bid for Champions League and Europa League qualification. They are quite evenly matched in terms of overall quality but a draw would almost certainly not suit either side at this stage.
