The Bundesliga title race could be decided as Dayot Upamecano's RB Leipzig entertain a Bayern Munich side without star man Robert Lewandowski in a blockbuster clash on Saturday. Read our reasons for Leipzig vs Bayern Munich prediction and betting tips.
Leipzig is currently second behind Bayern in the table, and victory for Julian Nagelsmann's side would reduce the gap at the top to just one point with seven games remaining. Leipzig is currently on the longest unbeaten run in the Bundesliga and has picked up 22 from a possible 24 points. Each of the last four meetings between these two teams has ended in a draw. The two teams played out a barnstorming 3-3 draw in December's reverse fixture, with Christopher Nkunku, Justin Kluivert, and Emil Forsberg on target for Leipzig.
The former is perhaps the only one of the three whose place is assured at the Red Bull Arena, while defensive rock Upamecano - who will join Bayern this summer - is expected to keep his place at the heart of the home defense after recovering from the thigh strain he suffered a few weeks ago against Eintracht Frankfurt. However, the game is likely to come too soon for Angelino, who is still working his way back from a thigh injury. Die Roten Bullen have only won one of their 11 meetings with Bayern in all competitions - and that was over three years ago - but they are enjoying a superb run of form in the league, having won seven and drawn one of their last eight outings.
Leipzig: Gulacsi - Klostermann, Upamecano, Orban - Mukiele, Sabitzer (c), Adams, Haidara - Nkunku, Olmo - Sörloth
Out: Halstenberg (not included), Kampl (suspended), Szoboszlai (groin)
Doubtful: Angelino (thigh), Laimer (match fitness)
Coach: Julian Nagelsmann
Should the reigning German, European and world champions prevail on Saturday and go seven points clear, it's hard to imagine anyone stopping them from claiming a ninth consecutive Bundesliga Meisterschale. But Bayern will be tasked with pulling off that result without star striker Lewandowski. Lewandowski has scored against 16 of 17 Bundesliga opponents so far this season, only failing to net against Leipzig. No player has ever scored against every opponent in a single season in Bundesliga history. Hansi Flick's charges have scored 78 goals this season (30 more than Leipzig!) and the prolific Pole has accounted for 35 of them, scoring against every other Bundesliga team except Leipzig. However, the 32-year-old has been ruled out for around four weeks with a knee injury picked up on international duty with Poland.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could lead the line in his stead unless Flick goes for a fluid front four led by Serge Gnabry. Alphonso Davies and Jerome Boateng are both suspended, meaning David Alaba will partner Niklas Süle in central defense, with Lucas Hernandez slotting in at left-back. Thomas Müller, the Bundesliga's top assist provider, scored a brace in the reverse fixture and will provide attacking support regardless if it's all three of Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman alongside him or not. A win for Bayern would take them seven points clear at the top of the table. Such a lead at this stage of the season has never been overturned.
Bayern: Neuer (c) - Pavard, Süle, Alaba, Hernandez - Kimmich, Goretzka - Sane, Müller, Coman - Gnabry
Out: Davies (suspended), Boateng (suspended), Costa (metatarsal), Hoffmann (knee), Lewandowski (knee), Tolisso (thigh)
Doubtful: Nianzou (thigh)
Coach: Hansi Flick

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
