Liverpool host Fulham at Anfield (Liverpool) in the 27th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 2 pm (UK) on Sunday, March 7. Read our reasons for Liverpool vs Fulham prediction and betting tips.
The idea of Liverpool going over ten hours without scoring from open play at Anfield seemed impossible last season when the ‘Reds’ romped to the title. However, that’s the reality they now face after a 1-0 defeat here against Chelsea during midweek made history on Merseyside consigning Liverpool to five home league defeats in a row for the first time in their 128-year history. On the other hand, after taking a point in the reverse fixture (1-1), Fulham will believe they can do the same here, especially as they’ve lost just one of their last six PL outings (W2, D3, L1). However, the 18th-placed ‘Cottagers’ will be rueing missed chances after a 1-0 defeat against London rivals, Tottenham on Thursday night, which has given their survival hopes a little dent after all the nearby teams lost points, too.
On Thursday night Chelsea moved into the top four with a victory that left Liverpool adrift in seventh, not merely out of those Champions League places, but now also three points behind neighbours Everton, who are fifth and have a game in hand. Liverpool have now gone more than 10 hours without a goal in open play at Anfield - almost unthinkable given the manner in which even the finest teams were intimidated and besieged by Klopp's teams here in previous years.
Considering the dire nature of their recent home form, something reasonably drastic needs to change against Scott Parker’s side; bringing in Naby Keita and our No.3 could provide the shakeup the Reds need to get a first home victory since December. At this point in the season, Klopp arguably has to start taking risks that he may not necessarily have been comfortable with if the side was closer to Man City in the table.
As for Fulham, they remain three points from safety following the defeat at Craven Cottage and they have now played one game more than Newcastle and Brighton, who sit directly above them in the standings. But Parker's side have given themselves hope of achieving survival, having gone five games unbeaten prior to facing Spurs. They were 10 points adrift of 17th-placed Newcastle only 19 days ago, but now the Cottagers have every chance of avoiding relegation following their recent five-game unbeaten run.
The game against the Spurs epitomised Fulham's recent displays - they are defensively sound, conceding one goal in five games prior to this match, and comfortable in possession, but they remain profligate in attack. By full-time, they had managed 11 shots to Spurs' nine. Despite their precarious position in the table, this was the first time in six games Fulham conceded the opening goal and they responded admirably in their push for parity.

Liverpool meet Fulham having previously lost just one of their 23 top-flight home games against the cottagers (W16 D6), while Fulham haven’t avoided defeat in both league games against Liverpool in a season since beating them twice in the 2011-12 campaign.
Fulham are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League away games (W1 D6) – their longest run without defeat on the road in their top-flight history, and a chance like this to beat the wounded champions probably won’t come around again anytime soon.
However, we expect Klopp to give their players a hairdryer – Alex Ferguson-style – and do what it takes to get their season back on track. BettingKick’s Liverpool vs Fulham prediction is: Liverpool win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
