LIVERPOOL VS WEST BROM MATCH ANALYSIS
Victory in midweek against Spurs sent the defending champions three points clear at the league’s summit for the first time in this new campaign. And after their record 0-7 win at the Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace, they are now unbeaten in the last ten Premier League matches (W6, D4) since their defeat at the hands of Aston Villa. They have also increased the gap between second-placed Leicester (27) to four points. Their visitors, on the other hand, sacked Slaven Bilic after a gutsy draw at the Etihad (1-1) and with Sam Allardyce in his place, the Baggies remain in the relegation zone in 19th place with 7 points (W1, D4, L9) after their 0-3 defeat to Aston Villa at home.
Liverpool got off to a great start of the campaign with three wins, but then the Reds hit the wall against Villa, shipping 7 goals in the process. It was the first time Liverpool had conceded seven goals since 1963 and it was only their fourth Premier League defeat since January 2019. However, they bounced back in the league with a ten-game unbeaten run, which culminated for them with beating the Spurs to get some breathing space at the top and also with their seven-goal rout of Crystal Palace last weekend.
On Saturday, Firmino (2), Salah (2), Minamino, Mane, and Jordan Henderson were all on the scoresheet as the champions overwhelmed Roy Hodgson's side with a stunning away performance. As the scoresheet suggests the Eagles were mostly stale and uninspiring. They could not cope with Liverpool’s waves of attack and failed to deal with the pace of the visitors' attacking options. The performance at Selhurst Park was also ominous for those rivals who would like to think they can capitalize on the season's unusual circumstances to mount a challenge.
As for West Brom, they obviously do not seem competitive enough at this level, and given their sluggish start to the season, it’s no wonder Slaven Bilic got the sack in midweek. Sam Allardice, his replacement, will have to improve the Baggies considerably to avoid the immediate return to the second division. Coming into this weekend, they have conceded most Premier League goals this season (30). They lost to Villa on Allardyce’s debut but will find encouragement from an away draw (1-1) against Pep Guardiola’s City.
Against Aston Villa, Sam Allardyce's reign as WBA manager got off to a miserable start as the visitors brushed aside the 10-man Baggies. Anwar El Ghazi's close-range finish gave Villa an early lead in a West Midlands derby which was one-sided even before Baggies captain Jake Livermore's sending-off. Villa sealed the points with two goals in the closing stages - Bertrand Traore's strike and successfully converted penalty by El Ghazi for the Dutchman's second.

Liverpool return to Anfield looking to extend their 66 consecutive PL home games without defeat (W55, D11), in which they have averaged a fantastic 2.65 goals per game. That includes a perfect seven from seven this season. Even more damning for visiting Baggies is that league-leaders Liverpool have comfortably won their last 13 fixtures at home to newly-promoted opposition.
Sam Allardyce had a poor start to life as West Brom boss and it will not get any easier when the Baggies visit Anfield. The Baggies are one of two teams yet to win an away league match this season, but Allardyce was the last manager to come away from Anfield with all three points back in 2017 with his Crystal Palace side. He'd love nothing more than a repeat on Sunday, but Liverpool are huge favourites to prolong their unbeaten home run.
BettingKick’s prediction for Liverpool vs West Brom match is: Over 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
