Lokomotiv Moscow will try to stop Robert Lewandowski and titleholders Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Lokomotiv took a point from their opening fixture against Red Bull Salzburg in a game they led twice. Marko Nikolic's side reached the group stage thanks to their second-place finish in last season's Russian Premier League but slipped six points behind leaders and city rivals Spartak in the current standings following Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to relegation fighters Rotor Volgograd. They don't have an established striker, as their top scorer Fedor Smolov has hit the back of the net as many times in 10 league matches as Lewandowski put away in an hour against Frankfurt, three, while Aleksey Miranchuk registered a brace from attacking midfield in Salzburg.
Midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak - who is a teammate of Lewandowski's at senior international level with Poland was sent off against Rotor but is eligible for the visit of the reigning European champions. The hosts are chasing their first Champions League win since edging Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 last September. Lokomotiv defenders Slobodan Rajkovic and Corluka have been featured in the Bundesliga for Hamburg and Leverkusen respectively.
Lokomotiv: Guilherme - Zhivoglyadov, Corluka (c), Murilo, Rybus - Zhemaletdinov, Kulikov, Krychowiak, Miranchuk - Smolov, Eder
Out: Barinov (knee)
Doubtful: Ignatjev (Achilles tendon), Magkeev (ill), Rajkovic (ill)
Coach: Marko Nikolic
Lewandowski became the first player in history to hit 10 goals in the first five matches of a Bundesliga season with his hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The UEFA Best Player extended his goalscoring record to a Europe-leading 35 in 29 competitive matches this calendar year. Lewandowski was the top scorer in the Champions League in 2019/20 with 15 goals. He scored 55 in all competitions for Bayern.
Bayern's treble triumph in the summer saw them crowned European champions for the sixth time. Only Real Madrid (13 times) and AC Milan (seven) have won this competition more often. Flick's side romped to the Champions League last term, winning all 11 games to the tune of 53 goals scored and just eight conceded.
The 2019/20 treble winners ran out 5-0 winners in the end, just four days after a 4-0 win against Atletico Madrid in their opening Champions League Group A fixture. It's now 33 goals scored in eight competitive matches and still counting for Hansi Flick's men, who once again look like the team to beat on all fronts in 2020/21.
Lewandowski was granted a rest shortly after completing his third successive multiple-league-goal effort, with fit-again summer signing Leroy Sane and 17-year-old Jamal Musiala adding the goals from the bench. The only negative was the ankle ligament injury sustained in the opening minute by Alphonso Davies, who has been ruled out for at least six weeks. Lucas Hernandez is set to continue at left-back, while Corentin Tolisso who was on target against Atleti is in line to start at the expense of Douglas Costa after missing the Frankfurt route because of a two-game domestic ban. Rested at the weekend, defenders Benjamin Pavard and Niklas Süle are also set to be recalled - but Serge Gnabry is still unavailable for the trip to the Russian capital.
Bayern: Neuer (c) - Pavard, Süle, Alaba, Hernandez - Kimmich, Goretzka - Müller, Tolisso, Coman - Lewandowski
Out: Davies (ankle), Gnabry (not included), Sieb (ankle)
Doubtful: Nianzou (hamstring), Sane (knee)
Coach: Hansi Flick

It is hard to write a scenario in which Bayern doesn’t win the next game. Lokomotiv will have to try to find the points in the games vs Atletico and Salzburg, Bayern is at the moment the best team in the world. Away win is the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
