Luton host Millwall at the Kenilworth Road (Luton) in the 32nd round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 7.45 pm (UK) on Tuesday, February 23. Read our reasons for Luton vs Millwall prediction and betting tips.
Ahead of Tuesday night Millwall still have an outside chance of making the top-six. The visitors currently sit in 11th spot in the table, seven points behind the play-off places after being unbeaten in 8 (W4, D4), and will be looking for all three points to boost their promotion hopes. Luton, by contrast, are 16th, relatively clear of the relegation spots after a little purple patch. However, they will be wary of dropping too many points and being caught up by those beneath them. The things shouldn’t be quite that desperate yet, but it certainly cannot be ruled out.
An injury-hit Luton defence struggled to deal with Stoke's attacking talent at the weekend as the Hatters were condemned to a 3-0 defeat in Staffordshire. Nathan Jones' men have now claimed just four points from their last six league games. Instead of raising their game and getting back to winning ways, the side capitulated against a very average side in a gutless display. With two defeats in a matter of days, that dreaded word, relegation, is once again starting to appear in peoples’ vocabulary.
Luton’s second season started well, indeed there was talk that the Hatters could challenge for a play-off spot. Sadly, in recent weeks, those dreams have faltered, and Luton have started to slip down the Championship table after a run of poor results and poor performances. More worryingly, against Stoke, the very club he had left Luton for earlier on, coach Nathan witnessed what is quite possibly the worst performance the side has given since he returned, back in May 2020.
Millwall visit Luton on the back of the improved form, knowing that a win could lift them into the top-half of the table. The Lions extended their unbeaten run in the league to eight matches after being left frustrated at the weekend as they were held to a goalless draw by basement club Wycombe. The Lions are now back in the playoff race thanks to an eight-match unbeaten run and a return of 10 points from the club's last four league games. However, a top-six charge still looks unlikely as they sit closer to the drop zone than the playoff spots.
Millwall could not find a way to breach a side with the worst defensive record in the division, as Wycombe kept just their fifth clean sheet of the season. The draw was Millwall's 15th from their 31 league outings in 2020/21, with the result leaving the south-east London club seven points off the play-off places. Millwall boss Gary Rowett will probably look to name an unchanged starting XI for the trip to Kenilworth Road with striker Kenneth Zohore the latest to join the Lions' injury list.

Luton meet Millwall for the 83rd time overall, with Millwall having the significantly better head-to-head record. The Lions were victorious on 35 previous occasions, while Luton have 22 wins to their name. Luton are also without a win in their last 5 meetings (D1, L4) having lost 2-0 to Millwall in the reverse fixture in October 2020.
Both sides come into this match in contrasting form. The hosts have won just two of their last eight games in the league, while Millwall are undefeated in eight Championship games. We expect a tight game, so BettingKick’s Luton vs Millwall prediction is: Under 2.5 goals
