Luton host Stoke in the 5th round of the Championship at Kenilworth Road (Luton) on Saturday, October 17 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Luton opened this campaign surprisingly well, having won three of their four league matches. They are sitting 5th in the table with 9 points and respective wins against Barnsley (0-1), Derby County(2-1) and most recently Wycombe (2-0). Their only defeat was to Watford 1-0) in the third week. They look like a team of believers and a match against the Potters will be tough test of their faith.
As for Stoke, they have picked up five points from their first four fixtures in the league. After a goalless draw against Millwall, the Potters were defeated at home to Bristol (0-2), which was followed by an away win at Preston (0-1). After drawing against Birmingham (1-1) they are now 13th in the table ahead of the Saturday's trip to Luton.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Last season, the Hatters managed to avoid relegation despite conceding 80 + goals and if this time they can have more good days than bad ones, they shouldn't worry about survival. Of course, they were considered one of the most likely relegation candidates before the season started, but their performances are proving their doubters wrong. Luton continued their fine form as they edged out Wycombe Wanderers and bounced back from the defeat in the south-eastern derby against Watford. The hosts deservedly went in front through Mpanzu's strike and substitute Lee added second to give Nathan Jones' side a third win in the league. The manager reiterated afterwards that they are in a wonderful place in the league. A common thinking among their fans is that the club's best quality is definitely having Nathan Jones as their manager, as they look forward to welcome Stoke, another well-established tough opponents.
After their loss against Bristol, Stoke won three games on the trot with three identical 1-0 wins against Gillingham and Aston Villa in Carabao Cup, as they progressed to the quarter finals, and in their first Championship win against Preston. Even though there were a lot of positives to take from the Preston game, Michael O'Neill was the first to acknowledge that his players must improve in the final third having failed to score more than once in any of their six matches this season by then. However, those words didn't translate on the pitch against Birmingham as they once more failed to score more than a solitary goal. On a more positive side, it was a rescued point by a late equaliser in otherwise bland match. They have now scored only twice in four matches and their too cautious approach may cost them more points in future, especially against in-form Luton on Saturday.

Saturday's match will be only 7th match involving Luton and Stoke as Luton had been absent from Championship for 12 years before their promotion two years ago.
Stoke is unbeaten in all seven games so far (W3-D4) and last season they drew at Luton (1-1) and won the reverse fixture at home (3-0).
As for the Saturday's game, Luton is in a better place and unlike Stoke, finishing their chances is actually one of their strengths. They are also good at defending set pieces which is where Stoke are most dangerous at. However, stoke are a very tough team to break and they don't concede much.
My prediction: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
