Luton host Swansea at the Kenilworth Road (Luton) in the 36th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.15 pm (UK) on Saturday, March 13. Read our reasons for Luton vs Swansea prediction and betting tips.
Luton's midweek match against Rotherham was postponed after the Millers suffered a COVID-19 outbreak. Their last Championship outing was a 3-0 defeat at leaders Norwich. It was the first defeat in three matches for the Hatters, who have shown some good form in recent weeks. They sit 16th in the table, well above the relegation zone but chasing very little further up the table. As for Swansea, they were held to a 1-1 draw at Blackburn in midweek, which means they missed the chance to go second, although they are now level on points with Watford in the second automatic promotion place. They remain one of the form teams in the Championship having lost just twice in their last 15 matches.
Luton are still in the danger zone as they aim to cement their place in the Championship for another season. Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at runaway leaders Norwich City for the Hatters means that after the midweek round of matches, Town sitting out due to their game against Rotherham being postponed, they were 12 points clear of the third bottom Millers with 12 games to go. It is a far better position than at the same stage last term when Town were 14 points worse off, sitting rock bottom and staring relegation in the face, six adrift of safety.
Although they are now in the relative safety of mid-table, they still have plenty of work to do to make sure they retain their place in the second tier. The Hatters can’t get comfortable, they’re not safe, but then if they pick up a couple of wins Luton could shoot up the league. Making progression is a key aim for coach Jones this term, and the Hatters are already odds-on to achieve their goal. Town will look to make it three wins from four games when they host promotion-chasing Swansea this weekend.
On the other hand, the Swans are flying high in the division, with two late penalties seeing them pick up two last-gasp wins, as they have climbed up the table to sit third, in with a real chance of going up automatically this term. However, they were outplayed for long periods in their controversial 2-1 triumph over Middlesbrough while they didn't lay a glove on Blackburn and the fans have every right to question what the plan actually is.
Swansea have developed a brilliant knack of grinding out results this season, which is a trait that really shouldn't be sniffed at given how difficult a campaign it is in reality given the problems of the world. With 12 games left to go, Swansea remain in a fantastic position to achieve success this season. But, while results have been superb over the course of the last three games - recent performances have been so sub-standard that the Jack Army are struggling to see how their side can pip Watford and Brentford to an automatic promotion spot.

Luton meet Swansea having previously lost their last two home league matches against the Swans, last beating them back in October 2001 under Joe Kinnear. Moreover, Swansea are looking to complete their first league double over Luton since 2007-08, when the sides were in League One after celebrating 2-0 in the reverse fixture in December at the Liberty Stadium.
There have been no draws between both teams in 12 previous matches and considering the fact that neither team has been convincing at the back lately, the goals market could provide some value.
