Moenchengladbach will try to double their win column when Wolfsburg, still winless, comes to their Park on Saturday evening.
Fresh from a goalscoring debut with Germany, Florian Neuhaus is looking to steer Borussia Mönchengladbach past John Brooks and Wolfsburg, who are still looking for their first Bundesliga win of the season. Neuhaus and Jonas Hofmann joined Gladbach teammate and national team rising star Matthias Ginter in the most recent Germany squad, the pair handed their senior debuts in last Wednesday's 3-3 friendly draw with Turkey. All three have been central to Gladbach's recent resurgence, which has seen the Foals bounce back from an opening-day 3-0 loss at Borussia Dortmund with a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin then a 3-1 Rhine derby win over Cologne last time out. Hofmann has assisted three of Gladbach's four goals to date, and sure to keep his place on the right flank even if Valentino Lazaro is back in team training for the first time since his summer arrival from Inter Milan, via Newcastle United.
The Foals have scored three of their four goals so far this season from set-pieces, including a league-high two from corners. Those goals have been shared by four different players. Breel Embolo is also fit again but may have to settle for a place on the bench with captain Lars Stindl and French pair Marcus Thuram and Alasanne Plea trusted alongside Hofmann in the final third. Gladbach had the second-best home record of all teams last season, with 38 points compared to Bayern Munich’s 41.
Gladbach: Sommer - Lainer, Ginter, Elvedi, Bensebaini - Kramer, Neuhaus - Hofmann, Stindl (c), Thuram - Plea
Out: Poulsen (shoulder)
Doubtful: Benes (match fitness), Lazaro (match fitness), Villalba (muscular)
Coach: Marco Rose
Wolfsburg may be without a win in 2020/21 but Oliver Glasner's side has been incredibly hard to break down, conceding just a single goal in 270 minutes of football played. That came on Matchday 2 when Josip Brekalo was able to cancel out Nils Petersen's opener in a 1-1 draw at Freiburg. The Wolves held second-place Augsburg to a goalless draw in the final game before the international break, and have bolstered their squad during the recent transfer window, with Maximilian Philipp arriving on from Dynamo Moscow and Ridle Baku picked up from Mainz. The game is expected to come too soon for Philipp, so Wout Weghorst - scorer of 16 league goals last term but yet to open his account this - is expected to lead the line on his own with a five-man midfield behind him. Weghorst is without a Bundesliga goal since the penultimate weekend of last season and has failed to find the net in his last three against Gladbach. With right-backs William and Kevin Mbabu both injured, Baku is likely to be thrown straight in, however. Wolfsburg has won six of their last nine away games in the Bundesliga. Their only defeat during that run came in Gladbach on Matchday 32 of 2019/10 (3-0). The Wolves have recorded more Bundesliga wins over Gladbach (22) than against any other club.
Wolfsburg: Casteels - Baku, Lacroix, Brooks, Roussillon - Guilavogui (c), Arnold - Steffen, Mehmedi, Brekalo - Weghorst
Out: Mbabu (knee), Otavio (hamstring), Pongracic (glandular fever), William (knee)
Doubtful: Bruma (thigh)
Coach: Oliver Glasner

The home team must found ways to earn three points from matches more often if they want a battle for places that give Champions League spots. It should be a hard task but home win is our main bet here.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
