Man United host Newcastle at the Old Trafford (Manchester) in the 25th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 7 pm (UK) on Sunday, February 21. Read our reasons for Man United vs Newcastle prediction and betting tips.
A comfortable 0-4 win over Real Sociedad in Italy has virtually secured Manchester United's passage into the Last 16 of the Europa League before the Second Leg to come. Now they turn back to the Premier League where the manager insists he will not allow Man United to let rivals City coast to the title. However, there may not be a lot they can do with a 10 point gap between the rival clubs. On the other hand, there could be as little as 3 points between Newcastle United and the relegation zone by the time this fixture kicks off on Sunday evening and Steve Bruce will be feeling some pressure. At the start of the round of games, Newcastle United are 17th in the Premier League table and have a 3-2-7 record away from home in the Premier League going into this latest fixture.
Man United look a team on the verge of encountering a bad run of form that all the top-six clubs have faced at some point this season. You could argue Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are actually already in the midst of a sticky patch with just one win from their last four league games against Sheffield Utd, Southampton, Everton, and West Brom. Moreover, the side have a pretty average 5-3-4 record at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season.
It was that performance at the Baggies, backed up by similarly nervous showings of late, that suggests that it's going to be a struggle for them to hold onto second place for much longer. Sam Allardyce's men defended resolutely, but they were never put under any pressure from United's forward play. An expected goals figure of just 0.47 - their second lowest recorded this season - showcased just how much inspiration they lacked in the final third.
Meanwhile, there seems to be a feeling that Newcastle are serious relegation contenders but a quick look at the table sees them six points clear of the drop. Newcastle have lost 7 of their last 9 Premier League games, but recent wins over Everton and Southampton have kept them from falling into the bottom three. It would be surprising if they even get dragged into the scrap if they remain playing in this more attack-minded style we've seen of late. This isn't the Newcastle of a few weeks ago that embarrassed themselves in a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United. It's a braver, more forward-thinking approach.
Since switching to this diamond-like formation halfway through their defeat to Leeds with Miguel Almiron playing in the pocket, Newcastle are averaging just under two goals a game still and 12.5 shots a game. They handled themselves quite well at Chelsea, registering 10 shots at goal - the most Thomas Tuchel has faced in the league since taking over at Stamford Bridge. Yes, there's going to be a problem finishing these chances without Callum Wilson but playing this way will still get Newcastle into dangerous areas of the pitch with Allan Saint-Maximin an obvious threat.

Man United meet Newcastle having won four of their last five Premier League games against Newcastle (L1), and boasting a 12-4 winning record against the Magpies in their last 20 meetings.
Man United bounced back from an early setback to hammer Newcastle United 1-4 at St James' Park earlier this season. They also fell behind when these teams met at Old Trafford last season in another game that eventually ended 4-1 to Man United. The Red Devils have won 4 of their last 5 at home against Newcastle, including the last 3 in a row, and we can’t see Newcastle ending that run.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
