MAN UTD VS EVERTON MATCH ANALYSIS
After they had lost further ground in the title race with a goalless draw at Arsenal last weekend and were left three points behind rivals Man City, Man Utd responded impressively with a 9-0 drubbing of Southampton at home to send a resonant message to Pep Guardiola that they are here to stay in the title race. However, a run of two wins in five after going thirteen matches without a defeat in the league (W10, D3) needs to be improved upon if they are to overhaul City at the top of the table. As for Everton, the Toffees snapped a two-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory at Leeds in midweek, although they were hanging on a thread. Carlo Ancelotti's side are now only four points off fourth-place Liverpool ahead of the weekend.
Man Utd haven’t been top of the table at this stage of a campaign since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and will feel this is the right time for another assured display after a blip against Sheffield Utd (1-2), a goalless but positive draw at the Emirates and a statement win against the Saints. Rashford, Pogba, and Bruno Fernandes, arguably their best player this season, are flying at the moment, but the jury is still out whether United are genuine title contenders.
On Tuesday night, Solskjaer’s side equaled the Premier League record by putting nine goals past nine-man Southampton. By the final whistle, it had been forgotten that United had come into Tuesday's game on the back of the indifferent form - just one win in their last four matches. The massive impact on their goal difference means it is now bettered only by league leaders and their local rivals, Man City.
Everton, on the other hand, they have done excellently so far despite the absence of James Rodriguez in midfield for most parts of the season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has arguably been the Toffees standout performer so far, with the England international scoring 20 goals in all competitions and impressing with his all-round play. If the Toffees were toothless and simply not up for it against Newcastle, they showed more mettle at Leeds, recording their fourth win in six (D1, L1) in all competitions.
Everton's revival under Ancelotti continued as Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Everton a hard-fought win at Elland Road to take the Toffees sixth in the Premier League. Everton had to work hard to claim their 11th league win of the season and the result continues their impressive revival over the past 14 months. Ancelotti guided them to 12th last season and they have built on that in 2020-21 and are now in contention to qualify for European football after a three-season absence.

Man Utd have a terrific home record against the Toffees, having lost just one of their last 27 Premier League games against Everton at Old Trafford (W20 D6), with that defeat being Everton’s only win in their last 11 Premier League matches against the Red Devils - a 4-0 win at Goodison Park in 2019 under Marco Silva (D4 L6).
On the other hand, Everton are looking to win five consecutive away league games for the first time since 1970 and with Ancelotti’s experience and their defensive solidity, Man Utd must not come into this game too complacent after a record win against Southampton.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
