Man United host Leicester at Old Trafford (Manchester) in the 36th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 6 pm (UK) on Tuesday, May 11. Read our reasons for Man United vs Leicester prediction and betting tips.
Man Utd delayed title celebrations in the blue half of the city with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon. The win brings United up to 70 points, 10 points off City with a game in hand. If United can close the gap to seven points and maintain it to the end of the season, it should be considered a successful season, especially if they also bag the Europa League. Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers’ team are still in the top four but to avoid the pain and embarrassment of dropping out again they may need to win their three remaining league fixtures, which are against Man Utd, Chelsea and Tottenham, with the FA Cup final in between. They had hoped to drain as much stress as possible from those meetings by dispatching Newcastle. Instead, they self-destructed.
Man Utd had to fight back from behind yet again to claim all three points in a rollercoaster clash in the Premier League against Aston Villa at Villa Park. Villa’s dreadful record against united continues, having only beat the Red Devils once this century, after a masterful second-half performance turned the game around. United went into the first half one nil down, with a defensive lapse contributing to the VIlla goal in a game that United were largely in control of. But the cream rose to the top in the second half as United’s quality was too much for Villa to handle.
While United are surely just delaying the inevitable, it did feel good to push Manchester City’s title celebrations back by at least a few days and keep the prospect of a title challenge mathematically alive. United are still in the midst of a rebuild, and many United fans would have taken second place and a Europa League final if it was on offer at the beginning of the season. But at least for now, they can enjoy making City fans wait just that little bit longer.
As for Leicester, striker Jamie Vardy apologised to supporters for the awful performance in the 4-2 defeat to Newcastle on Friday night. City fell to an embarrassing loss at the King Power Stadium with the relegation battlers in full control, the Foxes producing a string of mistakes to fall 4-0 behind before the final 15 minutes. The result could prove damaging in City’s bid to qualify for the Champions League, with their cushion inside the top four potentially reduced to two points before the end of the weekend.
Despite Rodgers’ fine words on his side’s mentality the looks on the players seemed haunted as if they could not believe what was happening around them with memories of last year’s disappointing end of the season still vivid. Vardy, Ricardo, and Maddison are nowhere near the performance levels we saw earlier in the season. And yes, the Foxes are really missing Justin and Barnes which would give them some more options. The Foxes now must pick themselves up before the Cup Final and to secure a Champions League spot.

Man Utd meet Leicester unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches against the Foxes (W8 D4) since losing 5-3 in September 2014 under Louis van Gaal. Leicester have won just one of their last 22 away top-flight visits to Old Trafford (D5 L16), winning 1-0 all the way back in 1997-98.
United need three points here to put even more pressure on City, though it will take a monumental meltdown for Pep’s men to fail to wrap up the title now. On the other hand, the Foxes dropped out of the top four on the final day of last season following a poor run of form and will be desperate to avoid a repeat ahead of tough fixtures ahead.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
