MAN UTD VS LIVERPOOL MATCH ANALYSIS
This FA Cup fourth-round match comes on the heels of a goalless draw at Anfield between these sides last Sunday, their seventh head-to-head draw in the last ten competitive matches. United went six points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League after they defeated Fulham and Liverpool suffered a shock defeat at home to Burnley. Momentum should be with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side as Liverpool have won just once in their last six competitive games (W1, D3, L2).
Man Utd sit top of the table at this stage of a campaign for the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and will feel this is the right time for a second North West derby in the span of two weeks. The jury is still out whether United are genuine title contenders and a positive result on Sunday would certainly silence the doubters. They have failed to score in five of their last six trips to Anfield, but now they are the hosts and are tagged as favourites.
United should be confident of being able to exploit Liverpool's defensive woes but you can never tell who’s going to show up in the derby, even if Klopp’s men are having their worst spell since he has been around. Nonetheless, with four wins in their last five competitive home matches (L1) and seven home wins ‘to nil’ in the FA Cup, United have a lot going for them in this match. Additionally, United are unbeaten in the last seven competitive home clashes with their bitter rivals (W3, D4).
Liverpool, on the other hand, are enduring their first crisis of Jurgen Klopp's tenure. That slump has seen ‘the Reds’ fail to score in four of their last five games with the exception of a 4-0 FA Cup win over a vastly under-strength Aston Villa. Their task will be more difficult having in mind the fact that the Reds have reached the FA Cup Round 5 only once in Jurgen Klopp’s five previous seasons. Moreover, Liverpool haven’t won back-to-back FA Cup matches since February 2015.
They travel to Old Trafford in the midst of their worst goal drought for almost 20 years. The Premier League champions suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of relegation candidates Burnley in midweek, a result which not only extended their winless league run to five games and goal drought to four games but also saw them surrender a 68-match unbeaten league run at Anfield - the second-longest run in English football history.

After winning seven consecutive FA Cup ties against Liverpool between
1948 and 1999, Man Utd have lost two of their last three against the Reds in
the competition. On the other hand,
Merseysiders
have been eliminated from the FA Cup by United more than they have by any other opponent in the competition’s history.
Considering the sides have now drawn seven out of the last 10 meetings, odds
on another draw are likely to attract plenty of interest. However, we will
go down another route, so BettingKick’s Man Utd vs Liverpool prediction is:
