MAN CITY VS BURNLEY MATCH ANALYSIS
Man City have been in fine form recently after a glitchy start to the season. They were on a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions until last weekend, when they lost to Tottenham in London (2-0). The defeat came after they had drawn against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool (1-1), which has been good enough for the 13th place with 12 points in the early running, albeit with a game in hand. As for Burnley, the Clarets made a disappointingly slow start to the season, with the team collecting only 5 points from a possible 24. However, they have escaped the relegation zone for the first time in a while, and are now 17th in the standings, after their first win (W1-D2-L5) in the league against Crystal Palace in the previous round. It is worth mentioning that they too have a game in hand.
Man City are eager to regain the domestic title, and following a slow start to the season, they have shown signs of improvement as of late. They are doing alright on all fronts, but the busy schedule and injuries are playing their part in the way how this season is unfolding for them. They were on a five-match unbeaten streak (W2-D3) since their home defeat to Leicester (2-5) in the 4th round, but they were below par in their second league defeat to another early title contenders, Tottenham.
In the battle of two top managers between Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, the Spurs boss came out on top as his side gathered further momentum to go top of the league. City enjoyed more possession, but Spurs were too resilient and most of all, more clinical with their chances. The defeat left City with 12 points from eight games, which is their worst record at this stage in the top division since the 2008-09 campaign. They now face Burnley and Fulham next before the Manchester derby, so nothing but maximum points will be good enough against the Clarets.
When it comes to Burnley, Sean Dyche has rightly been praised for his leadership there, with a modestly assembled Clarets squad - having provided a second top-10 finish in five Premier League seasons in 2019/2020. But an already thin squad is at its limits. Furthermore, they have been very unfortunate with injuries and they still have many important players missing. Dyche had done wonders with the Clarets' modest squad before, so let's not write them off already, especially after their first league win of the season.
The win over Crystal Palace at Turf Moor moved them out of the relegation zone. They have looked more like their old selves recently, even if results went against them, but this was a performance similar to those in seasons when they have exceeded expectations. They nicked the first goal and stayed in control for the rest of the match. Wood's winner for Burnley was their first Premier League goal at home this season, and more encouragingly, the presence of captain Ben Mee in the heart of their defense has given them much needed solidity at the back, as they face City, Everton, and Arsenal next.

Manchester City have won their last six clashes with the Clarets in all competitions by an aggregate score of 23-1.
They will aim to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Tottenham when Pep Guardiola was once again beaten by Jose Mourinho, and, no doubt, Pep’s men will give 100% to return to winning ways and keep their title hopes alive. The good news for the hosts is that Aguero is expected back in the team as he has scored nine goals in his last nine appearances against Burnley.
The Clarets, on the other hand, had a disappointing start to the season, and they travel to Manchester as big underdogs on Saturday. Burnley will welcome the back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since June, but this has to go down as a must-win game for the title-chasing side.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
