Manchester Utd host Arsenal at Old Trafford in the 7th round of the Premier League on Sunday, November 1 and the match kicks off at 4.30pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Man Utd are in the 15th place with 7 points from their respective fixtures, albeit with a game in hand. After being thoroughly dismantled by Tottenham at home (1-6), they desperately needed the whole three points against the Magpies (1-4) to ease the misery inflicted by the heavy defeat against the Spurs. They repeated the 2018/19 Champions League heroics against PSG next with another win in Paris (1-2), and were held to a bland goalless draw at home against Chelsea in the league.
As for Arsenal, with 3 of their 6 league matches won, Arsenal are sitting in the 11th place with 9 points, below Chelsea on goal difference. After the win against Sheffield Utd (2-1) in the fourth week, they suffered two consecutive loses at the hands of the last season’s runners-up Manchester City (1-0) and Leicester at home (0-1) in the last round of the Premier League.
MATCH ANALYSIS
After they pulled off that historic win at the Parc de Princes in 2019 to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, United's results, by Solskjaer's own admission, were "shocking". They won two out of their next 12 games and it explains why Solskjaer was in upbeat mood after a 0-0 draw with Chelsea, even though it left United 15th in the Premier League in the week when they again won in Paris. It is the feeling of insecurity.
Red devils are blowing hot and cold at the moment and Solskjaer cannot afford another such dreadful run of games. The Gunners will not travel to Old Trafford next Sunday with any sense of inferiority and United have already gone 5 games without a win on home soil, something that has never previously happened in the Premier League era. Three without a win at the start of this campaign is their worst run since 1972.
The Gunners have plenty of reasons to be cheerful under Mikel Arteta but, worryingly for the Gunners, after their home defeat to Leicester, they have now extended a poor run of results against their fellow 'top six' members in the league. This is why it is perfectly understandable why Arteta is not getting carried away, pointing out just how much rebuilding still needs to be done. If the win against City was not an imperative, a win against Leicester at home would have been more than welcome.
As it is, instead of leapfrogging the Foxes in the table, they climbed down to 11th. Jamie Vardy came off the bench to score a customary goal against Arsenal in a first win at the Emirates since 1973. Arsenal were disappointing and, despite dominating possession and having 12 shots on goal, never looked like seriously testing Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as they slipped to a first home league defeat of 2020.

The Gunners have scored only eight goals in six league games this season. They have managed fewer at this stage in only one of the previous 20 campaigns, when they scored five goals in 2015-16.
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has gone five league matches without a goal for the first time since November 2014, while playing for Borussia Dortmund.
So Manchester United vs Arsenal Prediction is: Over 2.5 goals.
