Manchester Utd host Tottenham in the fourth round of the Premier League at Old Trafford (Manchester) on Sunday, October 4 and the match kicks off at 4.30pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
A dramatic injury-time penalty gave Manchester Utd their first win (2-3) and points of new Premier League campaign against Brighton last weekend, and after their disappointing home debut against Crystal Palace, they are now 14th in the league with three points and a game in hand. Match against the Spurs is the first in the series of tough fixtures for Solskjaer's men and the home win would set them up nicely ahead of those matches.
As for Tottenham, it seems like they have shifted into another gear after their blend start against Everton (0-1). The Spurs followed it with an excellent performance against Southampton away (5-2) and were left frustrated with a solitary point after a controversial ending to their match against Newcastle last week. They are now 8th in the table with four points and their recent form is encouraging before the Sunday's clash with United.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Manchester Utd earned their first win in the PL in a controversial fashion after they were awarded a penalty for handball by VAR after the final whistle had already blown. It was a match packed full of incidents- a seesaw game that included an own-goal, two penalty claims, two goals ruled for offside ad on top of that Brighton hit woodwork five times. It helped United to quiet some of the criticism they received after their loss to Crystal Palace but in truth, they left too much space, weren't aggressive enough and lost possession quite often. If they want to fare better they need to press better, recover more balls and last but not least, decrease the volume of negativity. Meanwhile, they have been in talks to sign left back Alex Telles from Porto and let Pereira join Lazio on a season-loan. The Red Devils definitely need to pick up their game for the Sunday's match against Man Utd's former boss Jose Mourinho.
Tottenham had an absolutely frantic week, having played three games within seven days. They had a Carabao Cup tie against Chelsea first, where second-string Spurs edged past the Blues on penalties (1-1) to progress to the quarter finals. Next, on Thursday, they progressed to group stage of the Europa League after they eased pass Maccabi Haifa in qualifying play-offs. Kane was brilliant with a hat-trick, but encouraging for Spurs was Dele Alli's contribution after he barely had a look-in in previous games amidst rumors that he will be offloaded. Those two matches gave them a lift, but the bitter taste still remains after the way they lost the whole three points against Newcastle in the league last weekend. Spurs could have put the game to bed earlier had they taken their chances earlier before the penalty incident (hand-ball). They were unfortunate but they can also take the blame because of their poor finishing. Hopefully, with two wins in midweek and after scoring 8 goals, they can bring their best game to Old Traford.

Man United have now failed to win in their last three home Premier League matches (D2-L1) However, despite all the negativity surrounding Man Utd they showed the fighting spirit last week and the signs of sharpness have returned to Solskjaer's forwards. Solskjaer himself identified the areas of weakness - a wide right-sided player, left-back and central defence, which Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer's predecessor as a United's boss, will look to exploit using the impressive form of both Harry Kane and Son. All in all, their head-to-heads know to be tight affairs, and the managers might start the game too cautiously, but the game could easily go the other way if Tottenham score first.
I will stick with the later, so my prediction is: over 2.5 goals.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
