Olympique Marseille will be aiming to put an end to their four-game winless run when they welcome Bordeaux at their Stade Velodrome on Matchday 7.
OM have been playing below expectations at the start of the season, but Saturday’s football match could be the turning point for Andre Villas-Boas’ troops. Given the underwhelming form of last season's Champions League semi-finalists and Marseille's great rivals Lyon, Andre Villas-Boas could have been forgiven for being optimistic about his side's chances of coming out on top in the Choc des Olympiques. Les Olympiens started the game well as Dimitri Payet opened the scoring, but the former West Ham United man was given his marching orders three minutes later before Houssem Aouar leveled from the penalty spot all before the half-hour mark. No more goals were to be had in that derby as Marseille registered a 1-1 draw in Ligue 1 for the third game in a row, with Villas-Boas's side also playing out stalemates with Lille and Metz before the international break. Seeing that experienced winger Dimitri Payet is banned, Serbia international Nemanja Radonjic is widely expected to start for the hosts.
Les Girondins, on the other hand, produced their best display of the season in a 3-0 win over Dijon. Bordeaux aims to give fans yet another reason for celebration, and we are positive that they will go for a win in the Stade Velodrome showdown. Considering that the hosts are eager to return to winning ways in Ligue 1, both teams to score betting options should be considered. The good news for the visitors is that Brazil midfielder Otavio returns from suspension. Bordeaux's defensive resilience this season is well-documented - Les Girondins have recorded five shut-outs from six Ligue 1 games thus far - and this weekend's visitors enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 victory over basement side Dijon before the international break. Remi Oudin, Toma Basic and Samuel Kalu were all on target for Jean-Louis Gasset's side, who will be searching for their third victory of the season when they travel to Marseille in-game week seven.

All options are on the table. Hosts will give all to defend home soil and to score for the first win this season. It remains to be seen whether or not Bordeaux can keep up their remarkable defensive record as the season hots up, but Gasset's men are now prepared to come up against a Marseille side without one of their key attackers this weekend.
So, our Marseille vs Bordeaux prediction is 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
