MIDDLESBROUGH VS BLACKBURN MATCH ANALYSIS
Middlesbrough come into this game on the back of a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest. The Boro quickly bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Birmingham, with the team recording their fifth away win of the season on Wednesday. Middlesbrough are in 7th and aim to regain their spot in the top-six, but they will have to do it without injured trio Browne – Fletcher – Hall. As for Blackburn, they have been blowing hot and cold recently and have not strung two wins together in their last seven games (W2, D2, L3) since December 2. Their match vs Swansea was off due to a waterlogged pitch, which gave them much-needed rest to regroup for the weekend ahead and push closer to the play-off berths.
Boro are made of tough stuff under veteran manager Warnock and are looking up at possible promotion rather than engaging in the kind of relegation battle which he inherited last season. A home defeat by Birmingham in the previous round ended a four-game winning run in the league, but an immediate bounce back to victory leaves Boro in seventh, top of the chasing pack in a congested top end of the table.
Against Notts Forest in midweek, Neil Warnock masterminded a sixth successive Championship victory over Notts Forest as Assombalonga put Boro ahead from close range and they doubled the lead on the counter-attack soon after the break when George Saville calmly slipped the ball past keeper Brice Samba. Forest rallied late on, scoring with their first attempt on target, but never looked like finding an equalizer as they were second best by a considerable margin against Warnock's Boro.
Blackburn, a name which has been quite big in the English footballing scene for the past two decades, find themselves in the 12th spot with 33 points from 24 games played – a really poor record considering their excellent start to the season. The Rovers might seem to be struggling at the moment with just 1 win in 5 games but have shown their defensive prowess in the last few games as the visitors have consistently held the games below 2.5 goals in most of them (5/6).
As for their latest match, the Rovers came from behind to salvage a point against 10-man Stoke at home. The visitors led at the break and Blackburn's pursuit of Stoke's lead suffered a blow when they lost striker Sam Gallagher to injury on the hour mark. However, the hosts got an equaliser when John Buckley tapped in for his first goal of the season, following good work from Harvey Elliott to keep the ball alive.

Middlesbrough haven’t won a home league match against Blackburn in their last five attempts (D5), but Blackburn haven’t won consecutive away league matches since April 2019.
This should be a really tight, low-scoring game as it usually is whenever Middlesbrough clash with Blackburn at any venue, so the BettingKick’s Middlesbrough vs Blackburn prediction is: Under 2.5 goals.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
