MIDDLESBROUGH VS MILLWALL MATCH ANALYSIS
Middlesbrough were undefeated in 10 matches (W4-D6) after their defeat to Watford in their season opener, and now they have four defeats in their last six games (W2). After their defeat to Preston, they are 11th in the standings with 24 points. As for Millwall, the Lions are in 17th place with 21 points (W4-D9-L4) and after winning four in their first eight league fixtures they are now on a barren run of nine games without a win (D6-L3). Since the international break, they drew four more times – against Cardiff, Reading, Birmingham, and, most recently, QPR. The Lions also lost back-to-back games against Blackburn (2-1) and Derby (0-1).
Boro has already played against some of the best teams in the league at the early stage of this campaign, so they will be well-equipped to face another solid team on Saturday. Manager Neil Warnock will be worried about the rough patch his men are going through, though. Until recently, they were playing the way he wishes them to - hard to break down and ruthless in front of goal. They have now suffered their first back-to-back defeat and are four points away from the playoff spot.
On Wednesday, Preston won for the second time at home in this season after scoring three second-half goals to see off Middlesbrough at Deepdale. After starting the season on the front foot, Boro have now won just two of their past eight matches. With Britt Assombalonga not having an inspirational night, the main concern for Neil Warnock will be the lack of punch up front.
On the other hand, Gary Rowett has brought much-needed stability to this Millwall side, while still maintaining Millwall's typical aggressiveness with pressing and getting under the opponent's skin. They are still struggling for goals, but the foundations have been laid for them to build on their near miss with the play-offs last July. Historically, Millwall have not started seasons out of the blocks and after their little unbeaten run (W3-D1) they are now winless in the last nine games, which does not bode well for the rest of the campaign.
Against QPR on Tuesday, the match itself was overshadowed by the controversy after some Lions fans booed players taking a knee before the loss to Derby County. This time, Millwall supporters cheered and clapped as players from their side and QPR held an anti-racism banner before playing out a draw at The Den. As for the game itself, the first half was forgettable, but Ilias Chair's brilliant second-half strike gave QPR the lead, while substitute Jon Dadi Bodvarsson’s deflected shot saw both teams share a point on the night.

These two sides have met 17 times so far, with Boro having an upper hand with seven wins to Millwall’s six. However, Millwall have not won a game against Middlesbrough since December 2017 (D3, L2).
Middlesbrough will want to get back in the contention for the play-off spot and to stop the rot after back-to-back defeats and their 4th loss in six games.
The Lions, on the other hand, need to find their scoring boots again to start turning some of those tight draws and defeats into wins.
BettingKick’s prediction for the Middlesbrough vs Millwall match is: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
