MIDDLESBROUGH VS NORWICH MATCH ANALYSIS
Middlesbrough’s second goalless away draw in a row at London against Brentford before the international break means they have conceded just five goals in 11 league matches and, as a result, are sitting at the right end of the table in 7th place with 18 points. They are still yet to lose since their opening fixture, meaning they have not tasted defeat in the Championship for ten weeks (W4-D6) ahead of their clash with Norwich. As for the Canaries, after eleven rounds, they are in 3rd place with 21 points after winning their most recent home match against Swansea (1-0). Since their back-to-back defeats in rounds 3 and 4, they have gone on a seven-game unbeaten run (W5-D2), which puts them close to automatic promotion spot.
Boro have not suffered a defeat in the last ten rounds and manager Neil Warnock will be pleased that his side are now starting to play the way he wishes them to - hard to break down and ruthless in front of goal. They have been impressive defensively of late, with the team eyeing their fifth consecutive clean sheet in the Championship. Preventing Brenftord attackers from scoring in the suburbs of London is easier said than done and Boro went on an international break on a positive note.
The Bees came into the game having scored in each of their nine previous league games, but failed to breach the visitors, who came away with a useful point at Brentford. Boro has already played against some of the best teams in the league at the early stage of this campaign, so they will be well-equipped to face another promotion candidate on Saturday.
The Canaries, on the other hand, with a core of the side that won the automatic promotion two seasons ago still intact, along with the new signings, should be able to fight for the title again. It is a long campaign, but the club is settled and manager Daniel Farke has really stamped his authority at the club. They got a little scare after losing two matches on the trot in Rounds 3 and 4, but they responded in style and have been undefeated since then.
Before the international break, Marco Stiepermann's precise finish six minutes from time saw Norwich edge out Swansea 1-0 in an entertaining contest at the Carrow Road. Both teams are enjoying a rich vein of form and the match presented a good early season marker for both sides. Farke was dekighte afterwards with a win and a clean sheet. After another late goal they held for a hard-fought, but a deserved win. They have another tough test against Boro as they play their next two games on the road.

Middlesbrough and Norwich City face each other at Riverside in what is expected to be a close encounter. The Boro have been impressive at the back recently, with five clean sheets on the trot in the league. Arsenal product Chuba Akpom is expected to lead the line for the hosts against Norwich, who recorded a very important 1-0 win over Swansea City, with Marco Stiepermann scoring the winner.
Norwich will want to reclaim their place in the top two, as they managed to keep a clean sheet in the previous two league matches. Their job won’t be any easier as attacker Adam Idah misses the game through injury. It has to be noted that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of their last six meetings in the English second tier.
BettingKick’s prediction for Middlesbrough vs Norwich match is: Both teams to score.
