Celtic travels to Italy to face AC Milan on Thursday with pressure continuing to mount on their boss Neil Lennon.
AC Milan has been almost unstoppable in 2020/21. Rossoneri has played 16 matches in all competitions this season, with their only 3-0 loss coming against French side Lille last month at home. They have taken early control of Serie A, claiming seven wins and two draws in their opening nine domestic matches. Stefano Pioli’s men already find themselves five points clear at the Serie A leading position, with the second-best defensive record. Goals from Alessio Romagnoli and Franck Kessie handed Milan a comfortable victory over Fiorentina on Sunday, proving that the team can cope without injured star Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The veteran striker has been in frightening goalscoring form, but he is currently sidelined due to injury.
Milan is having their best start to a season in the three points for a win era, sweeping Fiorentina aside 2-0 despite Bartlomiej Dragowski’s penalty save. Alessio Romagnoli was allowed a free header at the back post to open the scoring on a corner. Dusan Vlahovic’s strike was fingertipped onto the upright by Gianluigi Donnarumma and Franck Kessie converted a penalty for a foul on Alexis Saelemaekers. Theo Hernandez went down under the Martin Caceres challenge for another spot-kick, but this time Dragowski parried from Kessie. Hakan Calhanoglu also hit the woodwork and Donnarumma was again decisive on Franck Ribery.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed AC Milan's Serie A fixture against Fiorentina over the weekend and remains a doubt going into this game. Samu Castillejo and Rafael Leao are currently injured and have been ruled out against Celtic. Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers has recovered from his knock and is likely to play his part for AC Milan this week.
AC Milan (4-2-3-1): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Theo Hernandez, Alessio Romagnoli, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria; Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali; Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rade Krunic; Ante Rebic
Five points adrift at the bottom of Group H and miles behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, it’s easy to say that Celtic is enduring a season to forget. A Europa League trip to San Siro isn’t likely to help. The Hoops are the worst team in the group and deservedly placed dead last in the table. They have already mathematically ensured their elimination, and have no motivation left to even complete their remaining games in the group stage. They have scored the least number of goals of all the four teams, and have conceded the most. They have not won a single fixture all through their campaign.
Celtic’s miserable downfall continued at the weekend as they fell to another shock defeat in the Scottish League Cup, leaving them with just two wins from their last ten games in all competitions and staring down at a potentially trophy-less season for the first time in a decade. After a humiliating 2-0 loss at the hands of Ross County on Sunday, we have seen supporters protesting outside Parkhead, calling for manager Lennon to be sacked. Celtic star James Forrest is currently injured and has been sidelined for this game. Michael Johnston has made progress with his recovery but is also likely to miss this game.
Celtic (4-2-3-1): Scott Bain; Diego Laxalt, Kristoffer Ajer, Christopher Jullien, Hatem Abd Elhamed; Callum McGregor, Scott Brown; Mohamed Elyounoussi, Olivier Ntcham, Ryan Christie; Odsonne Edouard

Milan even without Ibrahimović is the clear favorite to win the next game. Everything around Celtic is bad at the moment and the game at San Siro is not the best to make a turnaround in the season. The home win is the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
