Milan and Juventus meet at San Siro on Wednesday, but both teams are expected to be without several key players.
The Rossoneri are still the Serie A table leaders, Rafael Leao scored a stunning goal to secure Milan’s 2-0 victory over Benevento, despite having Sandro Tonali sent off. The Rossoneri again proved they are prepared to push through any obstacle to retain the top spot in Serie A, as they were down to 10 men for over an hour. Tonali had originally been shown a yellow card for his late tackle, but it was changed to a straight red following a VAR on-field review. Franck Kessie had opened the scoring by converting a penalty, then Leao sealed it with a fantastic strike from an improbable angle. Hakan Calhanoglu and Kessie also hit the woodwork, while Benevento missed a penalty with Gianluca Caprari.
Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer, Matteo Gabbia, and Alexis Saelemaekers trained separately and are all likely to miss the San Siro clash. The Swede has given Milan fans hopes he could recover for the match, but Sky Sport insists he won’t be fit to play. Bennacer is a regular Milan starter having already played 17 games across all competitions so far this season. Sandro Tonali will serve a one-match ban after seeing red against Benevento.
AC Milan (4-2-3-1): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Diogo Dalot, Alessio Romagnoli, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria; Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali; Brahim Diaz, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ante Rebic; Rafael Leao
Juventus sit fifth 10 points off the Rossoneri, but with one game in hand. Cristiano Ronaldo was clinical for Juventus's 4-1 win and Udinese unlucky for hitting the woodwork twice, while both teams had goals disallowed for handball. Rodrigo De Paul thought he had opened the scoring, but VAR pulled it back for an earlier handling offense. Ronaldo pounced on a De Paul error, then sent Federico Chiesa through for a second goal before completing his brace from Rodrigo Bentancur’s pass. The Friulani were unfortunate with the frame of the goal, although Marvin Zeegelaar did eventually get a consolation on the scoresheet. Paulo Dybala relished his first Serie A goal in Turin for six months with the last kick of the game.
The Old Lady have Alvaro Morata and Alex Sandro out of action. The Brazilian has tested positive for COVID. He had played 83 minutes in Juventus’ 4-1 win over Udinese on Sunday. Morata picked up a muscle injury during Saturday’s training and missed the Bianconeri’s last match. Andrea Pirlo said after the game he doubts the former Atletico Madrid star will be fit to play in the next match. Morata is the second-best Juventus scorer this season with 10 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions.
Juventus (4-4-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Alex Sandro, Leonardo Bonucci, Mattijs de Ligt, Juan Cuadrado; Aaron Ramsey, Rodrigo Bentancur, Weston McKennie, Federico Chiesa; Cristiano Ronaldo, Paolo Dybala

The best part of the Milan and Juventus performers are at the moment in their offensive department and both teams to score looks like almost a sure bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
